  • because they were designed by some fucking moron, that wont permit me to take my bike, with bars that are skinnier then any human ive ever seen, but othyer people can take full size unfolded push chairs, wheelchairs, luggage, SURFBOARDS, and other random huge crap that sometimes gets taken on trains, why can i not take my bike?

I'll tell you why, because i photoshop my train ticket, i havent bought one in months, thats probably why.

OR, its yet another great 'rule' some retarded suit that drives to work in his Merc thought up...

  • And once again from the top..?

  • i love trains, next to bikes they are the best way to get any where. and i love the way they look, espicaly American freight trains.

lol - good work; piss off the shareholders :)

  • the train i got from Czech Republic to Germany was rad, huge space up the back for at least 30 bikes.
mainland europe seems to have a lot sorted.

britain needs to take more care of the people that make that effort to cycle if they wish to improve the carbon emissions, take a leaf from holland.

you cant expect to paint several coloured lines on the side of the road and a white picture of a bike and sit back in your chair and think....."right job done, what else needs resolving!"

  • I'm with Chric I LOVE TRAINS! everything! they're just so cool!

  • I wish I knew how to use Photoshop!

exactly, or the fact when the 'new' trains can hold a maximum of two bikes, whereas the old ones could easily get 10 in, and if there is a wheelchair user, you can only fit one bike...as far as painting lines on, all you get are a couple of red bits on the door where the bikes are meant to go, which you can never get to if the platform has any more than 2 other people on it!

i use the term 'new tains' loosly, as the whole system actually runs on windows 98, you wont believe how much i laughed when i heard that from one of the software designers!

    Windows 98!!!!one!!111!eleventy!!1!1!!1!

No wonder they don't realise my ticket is photoshopped!

  • how do you photoshop your train ticket?
how can you use photoshop for train tickets? what about the strip on the back of it to get through the barriers?

  • German trains are awesome. UK trains not so good. I avoid using trains with bike as often as I can although I love the possibilities for exploration they open up.

  • i love trains too. my favourite is the ubiquitous and muscular class 59:

I don't even do it well, i basically change the numbers and dates, and stick the print of in between the orange strips, as these are pretty bright, and my printer aint that good!

as far as barriers go, i show it to the guy on the side gate, and tell them it doesnt work through the barriers!

today, i didnt even show them a ticket!

  • i know someone who photo shopped their way round Europe for free.... that hundreds of pounds.. by getting an used trans europen travel tickets.

  • windows 98? arf. i work for network rail ducks. took these pics on a random substation visit the other day.

i work for electrification and plant renewing transformers and rectifiers some of which are pre-war. some of the old german ones still have swastikas on them. some of the cables are over 100 years old and check out the substation phones!

i'm no trainspotter but the railway in this country in general is, for all it's faults, an engineering wonder.

i take my bike on the train all the time. where did you get turfed off? a lot of the time i think it just depends on what jobsworth you run up against at the station. you can't blame some jobsworth cock on "trains".

  • haha i need to start scamming the trains, the prices are crazily steep!

they could easily cut costs, they just need to use their initiative...
    ..

  • I had a bad experience 1ce between reading and oxford, ridiculous bully of a cuntductor. I complained and FGW took action, though have no idea what that was.
Normally the conductors are real nice and friendly, and joke about locking me in the bike carriage, etc.

I love the train network, and use it out of preference to coaches/ buses whenever I can.

But it is way too pricey.

  • i got thrown off the second to last train from ox once, i didn't have a ticket.

  • it would be interesting to know what trains / networks won't let you get on, seriously. I never seem to have a problem, then again maybe I just put my bike on and lock it to something. Are we talking about The North here? Not taking the piss, seriously it would be useful to know if there are networks heading out of London who don't let you, we all have to travel beyond bike distance sometimes...

I feel incensed and I didn't even know about this.....

    pun intended?

ha... i used to do the same thing a few years back with travel cards. zones 1-4 was ace.
i have psd files with numbers and months stacked in the right place bleed crop marks the works. dodged for about a year.

trains rule... but they do rule more in germany and holland

  • I photoshoped my ticket aswell for 9 months from Ascot to Waterloo for me and my misses for the daily commute... at the time it was £70 each per week pass... It was like printing money. It took me a bit of time to set up the template and colour callaborate the print, but once it was done, I could change dates & splice on the rear of a real ticket with metallic strip in about 10 mins... it became a shitty Sunday night ritual but was worth it.

fuck overpriced, overpacked, delayed trains... make your own (not trains... tickets)

  • fuck that lets make our own trains.

  • I'm gonna print one out right now

  • It was like printing money...

    LOL
