any small tools that do wheel nuts?
have looked through all on wiggle and none seem to have both allen keys and a 14/15mm spanner. too big I guess.

I carry this one In my back pocket!

i find the alien2 tool covers all my needs. has a 15mm spanner! splits into 2 for chain breaker etc. good for touring, bit excessive for round town. pedros do a good fixed gear multi tool. 15mm spanner, 8,9,10 mm spanner, lock ring 5mm hex key and bottle opener, of course!

cheers for that -- I like that pedros

Random Wrench V2:

I normally carry a Topeak Rocket Ratchet RX/chain tool with a £3 stubby 15mm wrench.

I really like my Lezyne multitool. About the most sturdy one I have seen so far, includes a chainbreaker as well. I carry that and a bone type wrench.

BUMP
I've got a park AWS-9 which is basic, but fine for most of my needs, the only thing is it's a little big chumcky (100mm X 30mm).
I've just switched to a smaller saddlebag and so I'm after a Multitool for my road bike. It doesn't have to have everything on it, just the essentials.
I know the Top peak hex has been recommended, but I was wondering if there was anything a little smaller? (altho I carry tire leavers as well so I guess that would remove them.

In order of priority main wants are:
- quality
- size
- cheap!
Anyone got any suggestions?
- quality

topeak hexus, has everything is reasonable quality and not too expensive
but have proper tools at home
-
• #14
Cheers - It's a bit bigger than I was after, but the more I think about it the more sensible it seems. I always have proper tools, this is a "just-in-case" for when I'm out.
Some googling now has me lusting after these Lezyne ones : http://magshop.lezyne.com/multitools.html

My lust has been satiated:
100% solid lay-up carbon sideplates
Center-pivot, forged, and CNC-cut stainless steel bits
Philips-head and 3, 4, 5, and 6mm Allen keys
Custom machined titanium hardwareGrams 44 g
Height 12 mm
Width 30 mm
Length 64 mmBut most importantly *£30* from Cycle Surgery!
http://www.cyclesurgery.com/lezyne%20carbon%20evo%205%20multi%20tool/tools/bikes-components-bikewear/fcp-product/3394The main reason for the purchase was for the reasons in my post above. Without wanting to jinx myself I'd mainly just like a simple, light, basic multi-tool.

44g jesus how heavy is that..lol
10 tool Zanzi-tool 18g, includes 14 & 15 gauge spoke tightener, 5 allen keys, 10 & 8mm hex spanner, phillips screwdriver and the all important bottle opener :o)Personally I carry that and my cooltool chainsplitter/adjusable wrench that has an 8/10mm hex drive +14/15mm crank bolt attachment. The adjustable is thin enough to remove pedals.
Beats an Alien any time you like, shame you can't buy them anymore -

So this is a wierd one.
I should have got a Lezyne Carbon Evo 5 Multi Tool which RRPs for £60, and usually costs c.£40.
which should look like this:
...and instead I got a Lezyne Carbon Evo 10 Multi Tool c.£80, which looks like this:
Overall impressions are that it's very nicely put together. Tin has a dent in it, which is a shame, but doesn't matter to me much. Pretty much everything you could need in a bling package. I also think that because the two carbon sides are free, you could get a different ti through bolt and customise it with what you want.
The only weird thing is the 8mm Allen key seems to have a screw thread inside. Any ideas? or is it just the shape of the drilling for weight savings?
[ Will edit the post with weight once I've got it on the scales.

Could the thread be for cutting threads into spoke ends so you can get a spoke of a longer length, chop it, thread it and make it home? Bit of a random guess but I can see some use in that.

Or maybe a type of spoke key for internal nipples?

Topeak Alien, had it for about 12 years, love it. Gets used all the time for bike maintenance and even DIY around the house too.

Just ordered a Park IB-3 from Amazon for £15. Will report back. Hoping it might be made in USA, or at least up to their usual standard.
Can anyone recommend a good multitool?
Any help would be much appreciated!
