i'd guess 111mm campag centaur if iso, which if it is a pista should be iso

Would DA not be JIS being as they are shimano? Or is it some silly NJS thing meaning that cranks have to be ISO so DA come with an iso taper?

i think u'll need a octalink bottom bracket
a dura ace 109.5 bb should work i guess -

tommy, just like sugino 75 are iso. it's a pista thing!

dura ace set ups off transmission database
Dura-Ace + Sugino 75 + Dura-Ace (7600) + Dura-Ace = hassanr
Dura-Ace + Shimano UN72 (unknown length) + Surly + EAI Superstar = Object
Dura Ace+UN53/107+Dura Ace+Dura Ace= MA3K
Dura-Ace+ UN54/107+ Suzue Promax SB+ Surly= Eyebrows -

doh, should have said its the square fitting, not octalink, and i think they're JIS taper?
cornelius, i looked at the database, but no-one ran dura-ace to phils... :(

I might be getting a bit out of my depth here, but if you're hubs are 120mm, and they are track cranks, wouldn't say a 108mm or thereabouts bb be the right length, unless of course you're running some weird japanese sizing on the rear hub, which would mean you can use phils, sugino etc etc...
I'm willing to be corrected if I'm just being stupid -

rooooooob! (as in rob. not rube...) :)

Yes JIS taper, 109.5mm.

The square taper Dura-ace are JIS. I'll be pulling my BB out of my hack bike this weekend to work out what I need to run it with a goldtec hub (Same chainline as Phil). Give me until Monday and I'll tell you what you need!

I like how even businesscycles.com refers people to Sheldon Brown at the bottom of that extremely informative page!

i've got da 7600 cranks with phil hubs, am using sugino 75 bb, perfect chainline. there've been some questions lately as to whether da's are acutally JIS or ISO taper. everyone assumes JIS cause of shimano, but i (and my friends) have seen some issues with da on shimano bb's (un53' and un54's), whereas whenever i've used them on a sugino 75 bb (ISO taper), they've worked beautifully. go figure.

Yes, this is probably because DA 7600 square taper cranks are quite an old model, for the track and NJS certified, so they have in fact the ISO taper, as opposed to everything else Shimano made in recent years. So, as stated above, DA 7710 is JIS.
But the correct and fitting length of the axle is probably more important issue when trying to get the chainline right, than which taper is used by the BB or the crankset.

I know this is an old thread, but I've just recently purchased some Dura Ace 7600 (old square tapered) cranks (zing!), and currently have a UN26 Shimano BB (JIS taper I'm assuming?) in the bike which is incidentally knackered.
So, according to what's up here, the tapers aren't the same as the 7600 cranks are ISO even though everything else Shimano is JIS? Is this definitely right? Is it in writing anywhere, or maybe data sheet on this anywhere on t'interwed?
If not, I'll run with what hassanr was saying and pick up the appropriate Sugino 75 BB and fit that? Is there a sealed alternative, I was thinking of pushing the boat out on a Phil Wood BB (assuming I can get the right size) and then I can forget about fitting a BB ever again?! Anyone have any experience of Phil Wood BB's?? Or are they not worth the mildly rude price tag??

defo ISO. you can get any campy to fit too.

Cheers, will look into sealed campag alternative too...

I've similar issue to the above, wanting to run some Dura Ace FC-7600 (square taper) cranks on a bike with Phils. Interested in hearing recommendations on what BB for an English track frame. I've heard TA cranks suggested but also the above suggests Sugino. Would prefer something sealed. Interested in hearing advice

The phill bb is the best bet as you can get chainline spot on. Jis taper if the crank is non-njs, or iso taper if the crank in njs.
If you cant stretch to awsome phil then you need a 109 length, again iso if njs or jis if not njs. The njs is an issue as the only 109 iso bbs out there are unsealed (like sug 75s).

miche do their primato and primato evo light sealed ISO bb's in 107 and 110mm

hello
for my new build i grabbed some dura-ace 7710 cranks to drive some phils, but i can't seem to find anything on what BB length i need. any clues?
so far i know phils are 36.75 to shoulder + 7.05 for a sprocket = 43.8 or so.
what chain line does the 7710 crankset give you?
thanks,
matt
