Wanted: 27" wheels - to borrow

If anyone has a 27" 1&1/4 wheelset that they would be able to lend me for a couple of weeks I'd be most grateful.

I'm going touring in June (corsica - anyone got any tips?) and am thinking of taking the old Claude Butler tourer I have. Problem is, it's kind of too big for me, though ridable, and it has 2 irreparably buckled wheels at the moment. I'd like to borrow some wheels and go for a few rides to see if I can handle this monster. If yes, I'll buy some 27" wheels, if not, I'm going to have to get a whole new tourer (hence not wanting to buy new wheels outright in the first place)(and yes, I considered touring fixed, but in Corsica?! I'm not nearly hard enough!).

I have some 27 1/4 wheels from my 1981 Dawes Super Galaxy.
Got new tyres and everything.. allloy rims, 5 speeed cluster, barely worn!
Proper touring wheels - strong as you like.

ooh, wheels sound perfect! Would I be able to borrow them, even for a couple of days or a week? I would also potentially be in the market for the dawes if it wasn't MASSIVE. you know I'm short. I could venture west on Thursday to drinks.

You need to venture back to the west drinks anyway. We haven't seen you there for weeks/months/another period of time.

I know 59cm is not your size shortie! Just a pre-pre-sales plug.. Lovely original condition Dawes Super Galaxy, few rust patches on rear rack, soon to be fully restored. Very lightly used. I must sell it while it's still sunny!

stelle I also have a set of 5-speed 27in wheels, rear campag, front normandy (spins longer than the wheels on my hip-hop slave bike!!), with tires and tubes in working order (if prav suddenly goes mad and refuses to give you the wheels).

It'd be good for them to get out, they look bored. Insofar as wheels have a capacity to express any kind of emotion.

Hy stelle, if asm's wheels are not actually connected to a bicycle may I humbly suggest you take borrow those instead?
Its no problem at all to take mine - nae bother - keine probleme etc. :-)

Mine aren't connected to a bicycle, and are taking up a hell of a lot of room in a corner that could be occupied by dirty laundry.
