I've met some good people who are Christians. I used to go out with a girl who's Dad was the rector of the Swedish Church in London and he was one of the best people I've ever met. Cared more about people than religion. The way it should be

i agree, they all know how i feel about god, and invited me to their church to see it, i went along and met other people who dont believe in god, but like the message of their pastor. I'm going again next week before i make any more conclusions, other then best Christians ever, and riding bikes in church is fun.

Maddonna di Ghisallo Church, Italy.
Not wanting to be a pedant (but if the cap fits...) but the top picture was taken in the new cycling museum that has recently been built next door to the Madonna di Ghisallo chapel itself.
Both the chapel and the museum are well worth a visit if you're in the area.

But presumably not worth making a trip to if you're not in the area?

:-)It depends how much you're into pro cycling history. If you're not it'll be dull. Nice views though.

Fuck Jesus.
+1
Well technically not 'Jesus' per say as there is no contemporaneous historical records that such a fella every existed - but if he did, fuck him.
:)

But he (being god and being omniscient) knew he was going to be crucified before the thought ever entered the Roman's heads. And (no small addition here) he knew he would rise from the dead anyhow a few days later and all would be fine.
And they call this a sacrifice, it's a little like me getting all magnanimous and offering to buy everyone in the pub a drink - knowing that it's a free bar that night.
Then going on about it for 2 thousand years.

What counts as a contemporaneous historical record? I thought there was a number of sources that suggest that there was indeed a bloke called Jesus in roughly the right place at the right time who caused a bit of a fuss and was crucified for his troubles.
Some good friends in town attend Scum Of The Earth, a non-dimonantional unorthodox Christian church, I went along today to see what its like, when it ended some people jumped on their bike and started track standing, and riding around the chairs, I asked the pastor about this and he said "I ride my bike in my house, I don't think god minds if we do it in his."
Riding bikes in church is fun.
