  • Can anyone recommend some hard wearing jeans. The crotch seem to be failing on all my favourite pairs due to my frequent cycling expeditions. I have tried Levis Vintage, Uniqlo. The original Evis are the only ones that seemed to have stood the test of time, but unfortunately you can no longer buy them.

  • My jeans / shorts /trousers wear through too. Nowt you can do about it. Except it and buy cheap if you don't like the cost.

    Sorry.

all my jeans are ripped up too.

i was thinking of double stiching them around the crotch but i dont think it will help, they dont rip at the seam, they rip at random places.

  • I like it it means I can go to the loo with out undoing my trousers.

  • Edwin denim is really hard wearing...Japanese denim at its finest

  • 'slave' jeans if you can find them.
    hard to get since 1833

  • +1 Slave Jeans

  • my cheap mondays have lasted me ages.

  • We're discussing action jeans here, and nobody's thunk of the mother of them all:

  • It's a sad fact that jeans are pretty crap for riding in..

  • oh. second repost in a day for alice's fine article. if we're not careful, we're going to end up high in the google rankings if anyone searches for her...

  • or

  • "Is that some sort of joke? Me being black 'n' all :)"
only if you find it amusing! :-)

"It's a sad fact that jeans are pretty crap for riding in.."

i find it funny that people choose to wear jeans for riding especially at this time of year, if you really don't want to wear cycling specific clothing then any type of synthetic 'combat' style or carhart/dickies trousers will be miles better because they are breathable and quick drying, jeans are not.
wool and synthetic fabrics for cycling
    cotton for hipster slave posing

  • jeans look better, though, and tend to be easier to roll up at the bottom.

  • i never have that problem as when my mum is tying my shoelaces i get her to roll my jeans up at the same time.

  • My mate's got a pair of SWRVE cycling jeans, he swears by 'em...
Agree about Edwins, hard wearing denim, that is...

  • Edwins = well slave. I only wear Edwin jeans, but try to ride in them as little as possible.

It's my only concession to slavery...(yeah right!)

  • Ironheart 21 oz all the way. Its stupid slave.

  • it's positively manacled
