yeah, though apparently a good way of making them is to cut the whole smaller than you need and heat the pole so it kind of melts in? thus, we might not need it quite as big.

Thus 1/2" is about 13mm
5/16 about 8mm
and 7/64 about 3mm@ eyebrows, 'your' converter is wrong

dunno about the bit sizes, but my drill was sacrificed for mallet production. its only somewhat functioning now (will hold only the largest bit). in any case, you're welcome to use it (and the remaining bits) if you can fetch it from trampsparadise/agata/germanmichael, since it was last seen at their house...
me and object are having a mallet making sesh on sunday morning, and we need some drill bits:
