  • hello.. new to this fixed gear lark but have had a few goes and as an already self confessed bike riding addict and not too malko on a fg so want to get a new bike... so looking for a bike to buy probably something already built to start on, got about £250 ish to spend. anyone got anything in mind.. i'm about 5'8''...
    thank you v much
    posy

  • i'm actually a dudette...

  • Sorted.

Trying to make the title more informative so people can sort you out.

  • maybe this?

    or offer 300 to this

  • thank you eyebrows.. am getting in touch..
let me know of anything else you see much appreciated!

  • yeah was thinking that myself.. just tried my bosses and it seems fookin massive.. think 54 yeah?

  • Whereas I'm a smidge under six foot, and I ride a 58… Try before you buy. All the way.

  • I'm 5'8" and I ride a 54 if that helps.

  • Posy, why don't you ask Helen what size hers is. You seemed pretty comfortable on that

  • yeah def want one brake.

  • hmm thats prob right.
roberto has a couple in about the right size.
    Frame + fork + BB + headset = £170

    Same deal 51cm, drilled = £180

  • im 6ft6 and i ride a 63, it wont help you chose a frame, i just like saying it.

  • yeah but you're built like a frog...;)

i really have no idea how to respond to that.
The images are rather overwhelming. :)

  • I'm 5'8" and I ride a 54 if that helps.

not really, no, because you're a vegan, and thus deformed.

  • best to just admit i'm right kermeyyyy...:)

You best not mess with me, biatch, or I'll unload a whole loada Miss Piggy whoop-ass on yo, erm, ass.

    Yeah.
    :)

  • Hey posy, if you're thinking of going off the peg you should maybe give ride to work scheme a go? A mates just got himself a flyer 08 shaved off a few £££.

  • All right Dixo!

This is slightly more than your price, but it's a wicked bike for the money

    Fuji Track 2008

Oh yeah, and Bike to Work means you can pay it off monthly and your employer gets a tax break - that's the way Mackenzie got hers, I think it's costing around £40 a month

  • ok.. so firstly i really don't want to buy a new bike. not sure why but i think it is against my religion have never ever bought a bike new from a shop and not going to start now.

also i am self employed (yey) so think that ride to work thing is a non starter.. but i can probably wipe some of the cost off my tax bill which is sweet.

so back to starters.. calling out anyone with a second hander to sell or something that can be knocked together (i will pay for the service of course!)

    cheers again.. p

  • what about that one on Gumtree? Did you call them?

  • I think the whitcomb won't go for too much, and i think its a good deal.

  • posy, if i were you I'd watch the whitcomb closely.

    cough cough!!

  • scratch that, it doesn't have a brake....hmmm.

  • that whitcombes getting hounded!! juliet whats the size of your frame? and if thats got no brakes is it easy for me to fit a front one?
