On-One track sprockets, any good?

Posted on
  • Are the On-One CNC steel track sprockets any good, I know I should be buying an EAI off Will at HubJub but I'm feeling the pinch this month and £12 posted for the on-one seems pretty cheap. Are they any good though or will I buy one the decide they are crap and end up buying an EAI anyway???

    anyone got experience of them?

    Thanks

    Bill.

  • I've had one on the Soma for a while now. No complaints.

thanks, that will do as a reccommendation to me, I'll get one ordered today :)

  • I've been using one for a few months and a coupls of their cassette SS cogs. Very well made and solid for the price, the seem almost as good as EAI to be honest.

  • yep. way better than the cheap stamped stuff. Ive had one since july when nobody had the eai in the size i wanted and the on ones were a tenner. Almost 9 Months of courier use, still in good shape...

  • i have a 22 on one...only had it for a month or so.its still working.

  • And youll be pleased to note that xander has finally migrated to a £12 on-one cog with teeth:

  • They're OK. Nothing special - they're the same as the Surly ones.
I find mine is noisier than my Miche sprocket.

  • Well I've got it fitted now and first impression would be somewhere between my surley and EAI, its not as nicely finished as the EAI but is almost half the cost, I do think its a nicer made sprocket than my old surley was (surley was a 3/32, the others are 1/8" if that makes any difference).

good value well made sprocket though IMHO.

  • Talking of cogs aka sprockets ... if its a toss up between EAI v Phil ... which would you choose (I gather the chainlines are very similar?)

  • I'd go for Phil because they're shiny and I've never owned one. TBH, you'll be absolutely fine with both and once they're fitted you'll probably forget about ti.

  • A phil sproket is nice and bling, and if you have got a bling setup why not, but really what is the advantage? Any diffrence in the machining presision will be so small it will be negated by other drive chain issues. I am missing something?
