I never rode it so don't be afraid people.. :)

If it turns out to be a bit smaller (Dogsballs?), there's a chance I'll take it.

how tall are you? i'm just a shade under 6 foot, and it fits me perfectly.

Nah, I'm 6'2". I was thinking about getting it for someone else though (5'4") - it's not a big deal though, it looks like I found something (hurray!). Although if I played polo, I think I'd be all over it.

For my sins I am tempted by this.

I'm interested - will it fit someone 6'2"?
Have wispa'd you -

56cm rings a bell, but the stem is really long. front wheel is a 3 lead 3 trail with the middle twisted, little wonky (but as it was to be a polo bike). rear wheel is a goldtec laced to an open pro, pretty abused but still rolls really well, normal 3 cross.
the frame is 531 tubing, cranks are sugino GD with ratio 42:18, lyotard pedals, brand spanking new pinky/purple seat. suprisingly nice bike to ride. good polo bike or pub bike. -

yeah i have nowhere to put it. If it was about 6 cm shorter I would've bought it for my friend (to stop him riding my bianchi).

I'm pretty sure it was 56cm. I don't usually bid on other sizes.

i guessed it was a 56, but it feels slightly longer than my 56cm fuji track (could be just the different geometry fooling me though).

that's what his mum said...
it could be the stem, it could be the more relaxed geometry, but either way, it's pretty close to 56cm.

has the bike been taken, or is it still for sale?
-
• #17
just sold it 5 minutes ago!
-
• #18
I'm glad it sold, but it's almost too nice for a pub/polo bike.

yeah, i was considering building it up nice, but i just don't have the space for it, or the time... :(
such is life.
hopefully it's gone to a good home.
--- SOLD to max, sorry to all those who expressed interest ---
It's a 1960's Armstrong (Reynolds 531) road frame converted to fixed by LFGSS celebrity/clown/bike pusher Dogsballs. Frame formerly owned by LFGSS green jersey holder Hippy (don't worry it's not bent).
It's built up with a mishmash of various parts, and geared low - intended as a polo bike. It has a lovely original red paint job with beautiful details, although it has obviously faded and chipped in the last 40-odd years! The metal is still in good shape.
Size is around 56-58cm... Not sure of the exact frame size/dimensions (i don't have a tape measure) - perhaps Dogsballs can enlighten me if he remembers?
It actually rides really nicely, very smooth. As i said, perfect as a polo bike, or as a pub bike. I'm selling it reluctantly because I've just moved to a smaller flat and I don't have room for it.
Make me an offer, cos i'm fairly keen to get rid of it! I'm in Arsenal, by the way.
