Portable Pump

Posted on
  • Hi I'm looking to get a fairly cheap easily carryable bike pump for my bro. Anyone recommend anything? I currently have a specialised mini pump which fixes to my frame, can anyone recommend anything?

    Cheers

  • topeak mini morph

it's brilliant. helped me many times.

  • Crank Brothers alloy power pump.
The one with the high volume/high pressure switch on the end.
I've used mine a few times and have been impressed.

  • I've got a Blackburn Airstik. Had it for some time now. Pumps both types of valve. Also pumps on both the in and out stroke. You do need strong arms to get up to 100PSI from nowt though!

  • if you know someone going to US, then this one is good :

it takes a while to get used to the resistance, as it's evenly spread through the strokes, but it's quick and handy

  • C02 mini pump for me

  • http://www.chevincycles.com/products.php?plid=m2b96s58p3325 is wicked. Best pump I've seen. Got a compartment in the handle for punture repair kit, or as the guy said to me when i bought it
"you can hide your gear in there."

  • BRM Crank Brothers alloy power pump.

You can get them from the Netherlands
    Speelmans
Click on the link - everything is in Dutch - click on 'Onderdelen' on the left. It'll pop up a listings page. Click on the Quicker Pro. Then click on 'Bestel' to add it to your order. Then click 'heir' at the top left to go to the order sheet.
The rest is in your hands!

At €34.50 inc delivery its not bad.

    Regards
    Anthony

  • I've been thinking about getting this one:

    has anyone tried it?

  • C02 mini pump for me

Same here, I carry a tiny valve head and a 40 gram cylinder, good for a couple of tyres.

    -1

My dad uses one, he's always asking to use my mini topeak instead :S

  • The Blackburn Air Stik is excellent. Sturdy and easy to use. Specialized's mini-pumps are to be avoided. Using one to get ANY air into a tube, let alone enough to ride on, is not easy.

  • I've got a Topeak Rocket Micro, heard people wine that it takes too long to pump up a wheel, but I've havent had any problem. I pump up a new inner tube in a few minutes which is good enough. It probably doesnt get it up to the correct pressure but its good enough to get home, so I top up the tyre with a propper track pump later.
Get it and the Specialised Mini wegie to hold it, its a small saddle bag that perfectly fits a spare inner-tube, the pump, a cloth and some tyre leavers. It'll make sure you always keep going.

  • Cheap On-One track pump at home.
One of two Blackburn mini pumps.
Fists of Fury and a hatred of C02.
