I'm watching... Only for Victoria Pendelton in lycra...
Oh and the kerin racing.. -

I'm with you (on the re-gearing rather than lycra watching).
My old Holdsworth deserves it.
But Victoria Pendleton does sound quite nice. -

The scratch race tonight was very cool. You know it's exciting when English commentators are on edge. :)
Men's sprint's quals tomorrow night. GB should win the team pursuit. -

seems to be a little trend, i'm re-roading the t.j.quick soon as the new frame gets here. she'll love it. :D

Yeah, I think it's great to convert a road bike but when you then get a new track frame, it's nice to build it back as it was.
I got out all my old '91 Campy Chorus bits last night and knew it was the right thing to do. The bike was the perfect winter FG but now I realize I'd love it more with it's original line-up. I've just bought some very nice 7 speed '92 Campag Croce D'aune wheels and only need a Cinelli 1a stem 9-10cm and a pair of Cinelli drops. I might even get some crazy multi-coloured tape for it.
If you ever convert to fixed, I recommend keeping all the bits and braze-ons.
I'll put some pics up when it's done.

yeah a puppy has been resurrected!

It deserves it. I have 3 bikes now and feel the Paganini would love it's gears back.
Finally someone speaking sense. Bravo!

I've re-converted! The fixed conversion has found it's gears!
From this:First converted Mar/Apr 07. Ridden almost every day through all weather. Ended up covered in stickers, and went through 3 different types of handle bar and quite a few different tyres.
To this:
A year on...
'91 Chorus and Record groupo. '92 Croce D'Aune hubs on Mavic Open 4 CD rims.
NOS Criterium bars 40cm + 1A 8.5cm stem. Cippolini zebra cork tape.
Not rode freewheel for well over a year. It was an interesting ride to work this morning! ;-)
I'll be saving it for the bigger rides and staying with fixed wheel.
Puppy saved?

yeah, that scary bit where you forget to pedal and the bike doesn't throw you off. it's a miracle you're still in one piece.

Ha ha. Thankyou. It's got flavour! All that crazy cork tape and 80's/90's paintwork will be making a big comeback. You just wait...

sweet conversion both ways todd. i do like the paganini's with that crazy font. i used to have one that i never got sorted either way and gave it to superted a couple of years back. i wonder what happened to it.
nice ride dude. i am not going to mention the bar tape ;)

I love the bar tape. Me want some.

toddy, when you gonna sort out your raleigh lizard conversion?
-
• #24
Great work Todd. Back-conversion woo hoo! This year's all about the mech ... all your slave bikes are now worth diddley-squat.
Scary thing about using a freewheel after a while on a fixed wheel is my pedalling going all slack and lazy just as the crank hits 11 o'clock in its rotation, obviously I must be kind of checking against the chain there whilst fixed, kind of like a bracing to slow down.
Personally I can't stand your bartape, looks like something bucks fizz would have worn on top of the pops.

(I also changed my post as I posted the same as another).
