  • So here goes.. I've been absent from this forum as I just haven't been riding my bikes that much. If at all. Moved away from London enough to make it impractical to commute by bike, not helped by our workplace limiting the number of bikes allowed in the car park. So I'm still riding my bike every now and then when I get a chance on weekends, but I just haven't had a chance to use my scott's bag as it should. I love it and it's a very reluctant sale, but it's silly to just have it there looking brand new. Pretty sure it never even got rained on and I must've ridden it like 5 times to work. It was the first smaller bag he sold, as far as I know! All black with orange interior. Beautiful.

Make me a good offer on that, or Scott, if you're around, you're welcome to take it back, check for any damage and re-sell it to someone on your waiting list? It'd be an easier sale for me and you could probably sell it with a discount and still make a good profit.

Also got a pair of brand new 27" wheels, can't remember what hubs and rims they've got.. Come with brand new tires and tubes as well. I got them from dogsballs and I think he'll probably still have a freewheel to go with it that I never had a chance to pick up. If you're around Dale, could you post back and let us know if that's gone? No worries either way, it's my fault anyway for not picking it up ;) The wheels will come with a free Polo project bike: old frame and forks, cheap pinned crankset and pedals. It wouldn't be good for anything other than a polo bike I reckon, but I got it for free and it'll be free for anyone who wants to pick it up from Surbiton (or waterloo on a weekend if you ask nicely!)

I'd like around £40 for the wheels, does that sound fair?

Cheers dudesss and dudettes, hope you're having more fun on your bikes than I am!

  • yeah, got a 17T freewheel

Don't suppose you have any pics of the frame at all?

  • RIDE MORE Surbiton is not that far out you'll get fit!;)

  • TheBrick(Tommy) RIDE MORE Surbiton is not that far out you'll get fit!;)

Quite - I commute from Kingston which is next door to Surbiton and it's peasy.

  • I commute TO surbiton.. you can follow the A3 from Kingston to town, or go through Richmond Park, putney, fulham, chelsea, etc.. That is probably a really crap route though!
If you are willing to split only the front wheel let me know - my Dads bike has a steel front rim.. bless..

  • dogsballs can you remember what the wheels are?

    Ta

  • Any pics of the bag to gauge size? May be interested, not sure of what to offer so whisper me an idea ok? Ta velly much :)

  • Skullhead dogsballs can you remember what the wheels are?

    Ta
the wheels are a brand new pair of cheapish 27" widish rims with very very cheap tyres. the rear is threaded for a screw on block and dished accordingly, probably could be re-dished for a free-wheel. i think they have chrome spokes. nice, but nothing special. i swapped for a nice shiny campag strada crankset.

Richmond Park, Putney, Fulham, Chelsea etc is exactly my route and it's a pretty good commute in fact. The A3 route is pretty dull except for the bit between Kingston Vale and Wandsworth, which is just plain scary.

  • What about the A-road? thats bloody grim!
When I sarted commuting this Winter I couldn't figure out how to get into the park at night so ended up going that way most nights.. :-(

  • pictures of the bag would be good, I always wanted a grobag but couldn't be bothered with the long long que.

  • holy shit this place is more active now than I remember it being. Thanks for the route advice guys, but I'm not really going to do it hehe.. I can't ride a road bike (fixed or otherwise) in traffic, it scares me to death. I've been riding bmx bikes my whole life and I'm just too accustomed to jumping out of the way and going around stuff, riding in traffic makes me feel claustrophobic. I love riding the fixie out in the open roads though, so I'll stick to that :)

I'll go through the thread and reply to everyone who asked me stuff. Damn you guys are quick.

  • unxetas Damn you guys are quick.

shh, i'm taking the blue pills for that ;)

  • so bag pics.. these are pics of the prototype bag scott made just before mine, so it looks pretty much the same! Same color scheme and everything.. Are there any differences you can remember Scott? I'll have a look at my bag when I get home, but I think that's exactly it.

    It's the smaller one ;)

  • ahh silly me just noticed the x-straps are missing on the pics.

  • god my bag is reaaallly ols skool :)

  • How much for the bag ? Can we have a vauge guide to price :) ??

Like how much it cost you to buy ?

  • Did I mention that my cross strap broke on my Timbuk. Get sewing ;]

  • I'm interested in the bag but again no idea of price

  • scott not scot He only paid a tenner!!!

I didn't want to go that high, can we say £3 ?

  • Scott, how long it be to wait for bag for bike fram you to sell ?

  • [size=50][color=pink]Price?

  • I did pay a tenner for postage!

I got the bag while it was still on the promotional price of £90 + postage (as far as I remember..). I'd like to get close to what I paid for it, as it really looks just like it did when I got it and as far as I remember, they went up in price shortly after? Plus, there's got to be a price to pay for jumping the queue, right? :P
