• I've got a pair of the V-O sew up covers from freshtripe, they will be going on my Soma 456 drops, just wondering:

has anyone fitted a set of these and can offer any advice?

    and

can anyone see a problem with fitting some padding under the leather, I'm just thinking of a length or two of bar tape along the top of the bars lengthways fixed with double sided tape to fatten out the bars a little and offer a bit more padding, nothing as tubby as the specialized bar-phat, but just something with a little shock absorbtion and squish.

  • big daddy has fitted them, not sure about putting anything underneath it though, they are made to join and you might get a gap.

  • you're not going to need padding fella, it's about 3 mm thick .

take your time, make a brew and allow yourself about 2 hours. the instructions are not too clear but the really the only thing that needs working out is you have to bring both ends of the thread together and double knot where it loops around [if you're on the monopoly ride i'll show ya]

  • Done one side, bloody time consuming!!

I think it looks worth it, I'm hoping the stitching smooths out a bit with wear, it looks like it needs time to bed in and settle a bit.

hopefully I'll get the other done tomorrow lunch time and may post a pic on the bike at the weekend.
