I have Tufo s33 tubulars on tubular rims on my 'day' bike
I have them filled with latex and glued with tape
at 130 psi I have done 500+ miles so far puncture free

They make tubular tyres for tubular rims, and a model which is tubular but made to fit clincher rims.
If you are going to use tubs, there are a bunch of options from Vittoria, Continental and others - shops like Parker and Ribble have a huge stock of tub tyres.
No need to buy glue if you are going to use them on the road, just buy 1) Tufo sealant (for when you have a puncture) 2) Tufo or Velox rim tape (to change the tyre without using glue).
Also make sure the tyre has a removable valve core.
And keep it with the correct pressure (harder = less chance to puncture!)

I've recently bought a pristine 3rensho, it's my first build, and i want to keep it as true as possible to its keirin origins, so i want to avoid mavic and velocity rims this time. It's for (hopefully) track and road. I love the araya 36-hole tubular rims. Does anyone have experience of this rims and can anyone tell me what the pros and cons of of them? Are there any other 36-hole regular rims?

So you've decided not to go for the $230 used tubular tyres then?

I decided not to use tubs on my Vivalo, but still wanted to keep it japanese. And settled wih Suzue ProMax 32h hubs with Araya CT19 clincher-rims with no breaking-surface. It works out nicely..

Yep. One stamp per race they've been in I think.

Hello all.
I understand how Tufos work with clincher rims but do they work with tubular rims? If so, what extra paraphernalia is needed to get the combo to work eg glues?
Has anyone had any experience with the Tufos on the road?
