I'm Back!...and You Didn't Know I'd Gone

  • Hi everyone,

it seems to be the decent thing to introduce yourself to the assembled forum masses. I joined back in November sniffing about looking for some advice which was gratefully recieved. My decision to convert the frame that you can see below led me the door of Mr Dogsballs to buy some wheels. He took me under his kindly wing and created a fine machine. A big thank you Dale. A day before my bike was deemed road worthy, I broke my leg on the first day of a skiing trip. This rather arsed up all of xmas, new yr and the next two months sitting at home in a full leg cast doing nothing. Reading the banter on here can, as you all know, can occupy vast tracts of time. For this, I offer a collective thanks for diverting me. I was given the all clear on fri. I am liping back into action and the Mercain will be on the road shortly.

So, hello. Here is me, Joe (and the lovely H) and my bike. I'll hopefully see a few of you about.

  • glad your back on your feet

  • But not the pedals ;)

    Are there not bigger pics?

  • post in face to names joe. did you get the atacs?

vb, i've got some bigger ones somewhere.

also, he's a celebrity, keen eyes will remember him being nabbed by five-o during that dodgy bbc 'battle for the roads' ;)

  • Ha, is that a La Manga Golf Club T-shirt you are wearing????? Hello by the way :)

  • bigger pics. I'm undecided about the pedals. After (gasp with suprise) searching the threads about pedals, the split seems to be between time and toe clips. I have Speedplays on my 'proper' road bike and think that they are awesome. However, the cleats are pretty big so walking is a pain.
The split seems to me to be:
Time wins on efficency, ease of engagement and release in emergency but more £ for pedals and shoes
Toeclips = no extra shoes - a bonus when out and about in for cruising & not exactly the end of the world for commuting.

The jury remains out, further comments welcome.

  • la manga club indeed - 5 points to the man with the spotters guide to t shirts. £1.50 RSPCA purchase, I'm afraid I've not been there to play golf with footballers and crims.

  • Ha ha... my friends parents have a villa there, its awesome :) I met Glen Hoddle and the team there 10 maybe 15 years back when they were training for world/euro cup (??)

    Good jumble find there sir!

  • Luscious build up. Glad you're healing.
