  • a few months ago, i bought this lovely bike on ebay. it turned out to be way too big for me, and despite my best efforts, i have not managed to get any taller. oh, and i've just spent some money that i don't have, so need to sell this quick.
center to center seat tube= 57cm, top= 58cm, reynolds tubing (weighs approx 11 kg), nice lugs, near-perfect paint/decals, takes 700c, stronglight cranks, mix o'bits (some campy, some shimano), end-of-handlebar gear lever; keep the gears or convert, whatevs, you got options!
(i'll try to take some better pictures soon, but even better if you just come by and see it. whisper me, s'il vous plait.)

    £100.00 for WHOLE BIKE! bargain!

UPDATE: someone just asked me if the bike was in "full working order", and i've just remembered that i'd taken the pedals off a while ago. i'm not 100% sure where they are at the moment, so pedals miiiiight not be included. everything else is there, so mind you this is still a very good deal.

  • no, but i was excited, and it was originally listed as "53 cm"... shrug

  • possibly interested cajeta, i understand you want a quick sale though so even if i'm first feel free to sell it to the next person :)

oh and yeah that sucks! I bought a raleigh listed as 56 which is more like 59/60 plus.

  • dammit, it's exactly what i'm looking for. except miles too big. damn!

  • I'm interested, can you email me some more pictures please? toby (at) barrells.net :)

    Need a new project!

  • this is a nice bike, please buy it, the lady is crzy and i'm sick of her saying she needs to sell it! ;) :p

  • BoBoB I want to but no one's mailed me back? Maybe it's gone? I will defo take it if still free though as have finsihed the IRO and am bored now :)

hi BoBoB, i'm emailing you now.

  • Can I put 2nd dibs on this? For a friend (just moved to london need to sort that out).

  • gentlemen, thank you kindly for all of the interest, but the bike has found a home.

  • it's mine its mine its ALL MINE!!! And (for now) its keeping its gears :) Thanks karen, this bike is wicked!

  • well it's very nice asm, well done old chap.

  • asm it's mine its mine its ALL MINE!!! And (for now) its keeping its gears :) Thanks karen, this bike is wicked!
dude, you were whinging more than her about having too many bikes and not enough money?!?!?!?!?

cajeta, told you it would sell easy :)

  • This bike has now found it's way to me, where it has done sterling service.

I have to admit that it is, however, too small.

The bits that were on it have long gone, to be replaced by a bizarre collection of parts from other people on the forum. It's now fixed, 48/18, with a front brake.

I'm hoping to keep the bits and swap the frame at this point, but open to discussion.

I'd like to swap the frame for something with a longer top tube- probably a 58cm+, perfectly willing to supplement the swap with some dorra for the right ride.

  • why not ride your beautiful carbolite peugeot with fizik saddle instead? i don't get it. why would you even be looking for another bike?

  • I swapped the Carbolite for £30, which I then added £45 too and gave to ASM.

In return he gave me the Geoffrey Butler frame.

I then garnished it with a confection of parts gained from other forum members.

If the Geoffery Butler was big enough I would be happy to keep it, as is I feel rather like a Jack in the Box with the lid closed whilst riding it.

Oh, and the Fizik saddle is on the GB at the moment.

  • 'on the geoff'?

coming out on the geoff tonight?

    nah, i can't, i'm skint.

  • Oh, and the Fizik saddle is on the Geoff at the moment.

  • the cunt who lives in the flat above me is called Geoff. he's a fucking wanker.

    hope this helps.

  • PJ- I noted your expression of revulsion when I bought the Fizik- I know you wanted me to get a Rolls, but why do you harbour such a hatred of the humble Fizik Arione?

Is it just that you would prefer me to have an elderly saddle on an elderly frame?

  • The bars and stem are now on my new bike, and i still have the derailleur, rear wheel, bar-end shifters, and brake levers. and saddle.

    £100?

i bet he rides fixed. prick.

    £100?

i thought your beater cost £180 and was brand new, made by Alf Noakes or neil Webb, or someone.

  • it never cost £180, not even in dear old Alf's dreams.

  • i bet he rides fixed. prick.

no, he "rides" (once every two years) an expensive mtb on the pavement .

    even more of a prick
