  • Just been up to HH for my traditional roll-up while sittin' in the stands...
First induction of the season starts at 9am next Saturday...
Anyone else? Knees say no, heart says yes! :D

  • Don't suppose you need to be re-inducted, but it won't hurt to repeat the process on a bike I've not ridden round there before...

PS. I'm going for an early season 81" (46x15).

  • Hmmm... Dunno whether to borrow one of HH's bikes or just whip my brake off, chuck a 15t cog on and take the Mercian round...
It's gonna shag my knees whatever happens, they're getting enough grief on 48x17 as it is...
It'll be a laugh anyway, 'til I wake up on Sunday of course... ;)

  • Is there an bike jumble that day?

  • Just found this but no mention of the 1st March.
Saturday 17 May 2008 Herne Hill - Cycle Jumble 10:00

  • Can't find any mention so this must be the first. Any others locally coming up? I know about tomorrow's sevenoaks way but can't make it.

  • There's always a jumble at the HH good friday meet, so that'll probably be the first

  • nice!

  • yeah - don' t forget the good friday meet.

maybe wiggins will make it again.

  • if it's good weather for the GF meet it'll be the tits.

  • Can't find any details of the good friday meet with or without jumble, so if ayone hears anything please post?

  • nearer the time it'll be advertised I guess.

it's on good friday, hence the name

  • bigben Can't find any details of the good friday meet with or without jumble, so if ayone hears anything please post?

Cheers Hippy are you the LFGSS google superstar? Cue P'shop...
No mention of a bike jumble so I emailed the contact listed. I'll post what I find out.

    cue Pie-shop, he's a superstar at that

  • Queue pie-shop

  • the Piemen are queuing up for hippy to sample their wares

  • bigben Cheers Hippy are you the LFGSS google superstar? Cue P'shop...

No, I just like wearing my underpants on the outside.. while visiting pie shops..

  • Just a gentle word of warning...the track needs to be bone dry to be safe enough to ride. Despite having no rain for days, morning dew can be enough to call the whole thing off. That was certainly the case in late October/early November when the temperature wasn't warm enough to dry it off. Its a bit of a dissapointment to get there, stand around for an hour waiting to see if it drys enough and then being told "no riding today"!

I hope it isn't...but I think 1st March might be wishful thinking.

Just though I'd add that in case anyone is thinking of travelling from the otherside of London. Don't want yer to be disappointed.

  • So were there any takers now that it's be established - no bike jumble?

  • Still intending to roll down there, unless the forecast heavy rain for tomorrow hasn't evaporated by 8ish on Saturday morning...

What's up with VCL's website then?

  • it's down...that's what.

  • down with the kids?

  • No wonder I was confused...

followed a link on google taking me to pages I'd never seen before with different session times and costs. Revisiting it now I see its from labled as 2005 season...

    Doh!

So can someone remind me what are the session times?
