  • Bad news - the council have put on special locks on top of all the old key insterts for the light switch, the bastaads
We will try to call the council again and negotiate, but until further notice we don't have any lit-up court to play at in these dark times.

  • Surely the East London types are skilled in the art of lock-picking?! ;)

  • just get the south londoners to sort it out...

  • ok we concidered blowing the whole thing up etc, but wouldn't they just put new locks on next week ? Either we manage to pick the existing ones, or find a new one

I'm in that borough, if you need names for a group letter or what-have-you. Not that I've ever attended. But I can fake it.

  • check the markings on the locks agata - if they have 'FB' stamped on them [a lot of council stuff does] we can sort that out no probs

  • been meaning to ask if people are up for playing some polo on the 14th during the fashion show, heels and wheels

    trixy chics maybe?

amy said it was a great idea, maybe i should start a thread about it,
also it mean the the council will be behind the idea and maybe we can get the lights on regularly?

  • Clearly there have been reports of people actually using the facility and worst of all using the installed lights. This will not do. The lights where clearly not ever actually put there to be used. This type of behavior is not exceptable.

  • The Council doesn't employ people after 5 o'clock to turn the lights on, apparently.
    When it's dark.
Because you only need the lights on when it's daylight, you know.

Yeah I know it's stupid. Members of the community doing something productive wich does not damage anything is not to be tolerated.

  • why not circumvent the councel and bring our own lights?

    just a thought.

  • Like one of those '80s circles of car lights for pit fighting.
    But with bikes.
    And girls playing polo.

…That analogy seemed much less distant in my head.

  • we could lock all our bikes to the lights untill someone turns them on...that'll teach em!

  • yeah, you go first

  • we have to do it at the same time...you know nothing about protesting!

  • 5 usd you would need around 4 or 5 to light up the court

  • ok...
so then we bring our own generator too ?

  • the ones i showed are battery powered

and most streetlights have outlets in them when you take the face plate off, all you need is an extension cord.

its shit that the council wont turn on the lights, but they are not going to, so come up with your own solution.

  • So, do you think it would make a difference if we got a letter to them, signed by about 50 people?

  • What about torching the whole street?
    Illumination and heating: poifick.

  • if we all get the relevant phone number and call it until they turn the lights on(or the receptionist commits suicide)that should work...theres nothing better then a bit of badgering.

  • We are nihilists. We beleive in nuffing. Nuffing.
