  • ow.. there was me thinking work paid for a les 10 line into you house ;)

  • Ultimately, yes we will. One of the firms I work for has been having to spend £££ on conversions. At present it is only HGVs, but it will gradually be expanded to include 7.5t and eventually even vans. It may only offset the gradual increase in traffic numbers, but its like eating your five a day fruit and veg, every little bit helps.

  • We have one of those in Dublin city centre. A ban on all lorries with over 5 axles.

  • less lorries to kill people? Can only be a good thing..

Just need to get rid of taxi's and bus drivers now

  • yep why the fuck aren't taxis electric? they shouldn't be doing over 30 mile per hour anyway. Most of them seem to belch out the most disgusting shite, yet are exempt from the 'congestion' charge (really an emmissions charge).

  • Nicholas A ban on all lorries with over 5 axles.

Wonder which vehicle type causes most deaths per vehicle if you see what I mean?
My guess is that artic HGVs will cause relatively few as they are so big and scary that everyone avoids going near them. I'm betting that the worst truck type culprits will be smaller HGVs and 7.5t, as they steer and behave like larger vans, I'll bet that per business type the scaffolding trucks will statistically be the most dangerous.

  • In Dublin it's less of a pollution and danger thing and more of a traffic calming measure.. they never deliver into the inner city so they shouldn't be driving in it.
