most danes seem to ride with just a rear coaster brake like those above, and those doody lights that power from your wheel. nice. oh, and i loved the bells too!

Recent trip to Copenhagen found Sogreni bike builders, small operation very much plowing their own path. All the frames seems to be galvanized against the weather then left in their rough state. No idea on the weights etc. but there was no mention of butting.
This was parked outside....
Their bells (not light) were a particular treat that might suit a tarty build up:
