Lewis from Lewes most likely that the bb's are two different lengths, measure them and see...im guessing the first one is longer that the second
I realise his post is ambiguous but I think he is saying:
*Hi chaps, weirdest thing, I built this bike up months ago rode it for a week - *
The chainset I put on sat outboard from the BB, that is: it was not 'completely snug up to the bottom bracket'
Then I stripped that chainset off it to use on another bike -
Now when I put that very same chainset back on to the original bike and tighten it, its completely snug up to the bottom bracket...?I left my car in the car park and when I came back it was silver !

indeed i think they are but the one that now doesnt fit, did fit and did fit first. One thing i noticed though is that they are different or at least the second bb seems to be missing an outer shell, (which would mean that the inside of the chain ring would sit inside the BB. i'll try to upload some photos but my phone is playing up.

HI chaps, weirdest thing, i built this bike up months ago rode it for a week, then stripped the chain set of it to use on another bike, now when i put the chain set back on and tighten it, its completely snug up to the bottom bracket...?
Could using the chain set on another BB have caused it to essentially wear out and gotten bigger, therefore enabling it to fit further on the first BB and now um be too big?
Its bloody weird, i mean neither bike was ridden for lots of miles...?
