Yes, they would fit - you might need to buy a new brake cable to make sure you have a circular end to fit into the corresponding slot on the brake lever. As for the stem, if you don't like the angle of it, just flip it over! It will lie flat if you do that, not an equal angle in the other direction as I assumed, due to the angle of the headtube (that is probably obvious but I am a goon and didn't realise). Ever wondered why the logo is upside down? ;) Flat bars should fit into that stem, gave me no trouble with risers. If not, then shims aren't too hard to come by.

weird - i'd've goonishly thought it'd angle down too - will get me a flat bar then and start playing with it - thanks for the advice sir.

what considerations should i give to the stem if i change to a flat bar? At the moment it's totally stick bianchi pista so goes up at an angle...
