  • OK here's my quandry:

    Campy [EDIT] 112mm BB + campy or Sugino cranks/CR. I'm reliably informed that'll give a 43mm chainline

Which hubs'll be on it, or near enough to use spacers, please guys and girls?
    Ta

  • campag pista hubs! see Jos, he has heaps :) (i was supposed to have a pair but...grrr!)

  • The Campag (111mm I presume?) will give a fractionally wider chainline on a 75 than a Record Pista. It's not suitable for use on other Sugino cranks.

The Formula/System EX/etc hubs will give correct chainline, but bear in mind not all cogs are the same. Check with Sheldon, but I think EAI sit out a touch further.

    Dura Ace and Campag too.

Goldtec and Phil are a no-no, being 2-3mm wider.

If you want to run the 75, the Miche BB is adjustable.

  • how does one adjust a miche bottom bracket?

i have condor/goldtec hubs, miche BB, 75 cranks, EAI. how does that work out, while you're on?

  • @skullhead
75 bb is 109mm ISO taper and gives 42mm chainline, so if you have a 111mm campag bb with 75 cranks should give you 44 or 45mm chainline then you're best going with phils or goldtecs. if they're out of your range then get another bb with 109mm spindle you'll be fine.

    @nimhbus
both cups on the miche bb are 'open' so u can easily shift the whole block (cup - cartridge bb - cup)

  • but in that case you might want to watch the clearance between left crank and left chainstay. well. it's just 2 or 3mm... should be fine.

  • i see, thanks

    i think.

  • i have the miche/campag tool. if you can drag yourself away from your zylaphone you are welcome to borrow it.

  • who me? what xylophone?

  • yes you

  • interested in the above...have some campy cranks and phil wood hubs and concerned about the above comments. Am presuming there's bottom bracket options that provide the proper chainline but keen to hear it confirmed

  • i use a campag bb (chorus i think? same fitting as miche, not externally flanged like the record bb's) with miche cranks, goldtecs and an EAI cog with no chainline issues

  • I got zero chainline issues

    fucking ZE fucking RO

    Nill
    Zip

    Shit all
    The whites

    it really is rather comely

  • I'm alright, Jack.

  • RPM I got zero chainline issues

    fucking ZE fucking RO

    Nill
    Zip

    Shit all
    The whites

    it really is rather comely

    ahahahaha

    What's your issue then?

  • he's (usually) a moody b0ll0x :)

  • seriously I loved that post, it wasn't moody

  • it's all about luck and the right BB

  • I'm never lucky, pray for my BB

  • God ain't in your drivetrain, but de Debil sure as hell is

  • i've had several combinations using various hubs and have rarely had any issues. i've also used the BB in question ;)

  • ha ha no shit dale

  • you left the touch up behind yesterday, i'll bring it to th Aus ride.

  • ta

  • MrSmith i use a campag bb (chorus i think? same fitting as miche, not externally flanged like the record bb's) with miche cranks, goldtecs and an EAI cog with no chainline issues

Do the Miche bottom brackets have lockrings? Forgive me if this is a stupid question.
