Wanted: Vintage English Track Wheelset

OK, my holdsworth was hiding at mercian all this time and may be ready by next week, woohoo!! However, i'm in need of a vintage 1950's english wheelset 27". i've got some vintage hubs 32/40H but finding rims is proving difficult (there are some tubs on ebay atm, but not sure could be italian). So does anyone have hiding in their closets a vintage enlgish track wheelset 27" preferred tub or clincher??

Also anyone have a 1950's vintage english chrome headset??

Have some 27" tub wheels to throw on ebay but early 80's off my mercian and would need relacing anyway as it was geared, so probably no good for you

surely you will find some dunlop steels, if nothing better. I do have some 32f/40r laced to some BHC hubs (not track, 4/5 sp. road/path flipflop), but I'm kinda keen on keeping hold of em in case I ever put my claud butler back how I got her. Have you tried ctc forum for this? I met a guy on there (who is a north londoner) who swapped some cranks/rings with me, a proper nice buff. Would probably prefer to swap things I imagine, so get diggin. His id on there was i think steve.y.griffiths. But hey put a WANTED: thread up you'll get help real quick from some of those geezers.

didn't I see a pair of wooden hubs on ebay?
not sure of the holage, mind.
or the country of origin (damn right wing, wheelist, mail reader thou!)

there are some on ebay, but they are 30's or earlier!

You can always ask the Classic rendevouz mailing list. Plenty of english people on there to and the minimum age seems to be 50+.
