• Hi there,

i'm looking to get a track frame in any size

does anyone know where i can get one at a reasonable price

plz let me know

• mandem fgl crew can help bruv.

might need plz tell size, truedat.

• what happened to the white mercian with the buggered head tube?

• use search on this forum

• The market dictates how much something is worth. Supply and demand. I am afraid that demand is high right now so if you don't want a off the peg bike like a lancaster then the prices that you see on gumtree ebay, britishcycling adds e.t.c are what the bikes are worth. Items that are out side London tend to go for less so if you can travel around you may get something cheaper but you will have to factor in the travel cost.

If there was a reliable place out there where frame where cheaper it would be instantly used to make money resulting in more competition at that place and resulting in higher prices.

The market is largely efficient.

• tomasito what happened to the white mercian with the buggered head tube?

Yeah, she may be for sale... Looking for offers in the region of £1K... Only to the right person, of course... ;)
She's going to Vaz's brother for a bodge job very soon, can't afford to send her to Derby... :(

• P.S not trying to sound like an asshole just pointing out that there is no magic source of cheap frames, especially if you are in a hurry.

• if you're ina rush go off the peg.

• nowt wrong, and more satisfying, to work on a conversion, in my humble opinion.

• I have a Panasonic up for grabs. Frame, not stereo ;-)

• pj if you're in a rush go off the peg.

• Not that I know anything about anything, but I'm exceptionally bored at work...

teenfixie - what's your budget exactly? And are you really not bothered about the size?

• vic And are you really not bothered about the size?

Good point. I meant to mention that one.

• I love Spicer - a place for cheap track frames:

http://www.spicercycles.com/index.cgi?cat=22&sub_cat=Track%20Frames-Standard%20Steel&prod_id=516&cat_desc=Track

if you don't mind the shipping

• anything up to around £350

• as long as it's a random size

• ill sell you a frame for 350, in a size of my choseing, meterail, and colour of my choseing, and throw in free shipping.

and you will open the box to find a 4 inch bike frame made out of balsa wood.

• Well im 5"10

so anything that will suit my height

• made out of balsa wood?

• serriously, your hight is not so important, more so you need the distace from the ground to your junk in millimeters, thats the stand over hight, you also will want the distance from your shoulder to your hand, and waist to shoulder for setting up the bike.

The Rush is £360 for frame and forks (although it has track ends, it may not be track geometry, and it may have a few braze-ons) - you said you were looking for a track frame rather than a complete bike. Comes in a range of sizes too, once you worked that one out.....

• hippo might be selling his rush ;)

• and 31trum has a nice frame for sale too.

• the frame from hippo comes complete with crumples
