It's a piece of piss aint it? I need to pay for the ful version so I can get it to do mitre templates for me.

Anyone ever made anything of use from Bike CAD or is it just for fun?

Judging by the list of builders on their website I would say it's likely some find it useful. The geometry drawings on Singular's website also certainly look like they were produced with it.

Is BikeCAD still the way to go? I can't make it work in any of my browsers. I can't get rattleCAD to work either. I'm on a Mac, which is no doubt going to make this exercise a barrel of laughs.
Are there any other options?

I'm on a Mac as well. I kept trying to get BikeCAD to work on Chrome and it suddenly kicked in after the tenth or so go. It's pretty good if you can get it to work.

Yeah, a Java update and a lot of patience seemed to get it to kick in, thanks.
Seems pretty tidy, shame it's £250-odd to be able to print out the mitre templates...

Dredging this... having a play around on the online demo version. Mac / Chrome.
I have most things figured out - tubing diameters, component dimensions, etc. - but can't figure out how to input things like saddle height, nose to bar reach and saddle to bar drop so they're locked in.
These are the measurements my fitting gave me so they're the most important part of the design. I'd like to lock them in so I can then play around with different tube lengths and angles to visualise how it all affects stem reach / amount of seat post showing, etc.
(I know every frame builder will do this stuff for me but I'm just playing around at home for fun)
Any tips greatly appreciated!

saddle height, nose to bar reach and saddle to bar drop
Saddle height is in the same window as top tube length etc, main frame dimensions. It might be under a drop down menu, on the left.
I don't think you can directly input the other two values. They are a result of tube lengths and angles.

How do people know if it fit or not... there must be a way!
Well, I know you can measure for example saddle tip to bars when you make a drawing.
But surley you have frame reach and stack numbers (or can derive them) from your builder? Accompanied with saddle height and fore/aft, and stem dimensions, you have your fit.

Think I found it... it's all in the dimensions box:

Yeah I was trying to see if I could lock (for example) the saddle in relation to the bb and the bars. That way I could play around with different tube lengths and angles to find out how much offset works with what ST angle, or how much the stem length changes if I change HT angle, etc etc.
It would be great if some things were locked but everything else just stretched and morphed into different shapes as you played around.
I'm sure it's possible (at least on the paid version).
Just curious really, this stuff fascinates me : )
it might be my lack of sleep but i really want to go to canda and kick the people at bike forest for makeing bike cad so hard to use.
