  • Has anyone got stuck into festive food yet?

I'm trying really hard to stick to my regime this Christmas but so far my festive food intake list is as following:

2 x mince pies (with icing on top like a Cherry Bakewell... pretty rank)
3 x bottles of Christmas Pudding Beer
1 x Christmas Dinner at my works do last week
1 x Turkey and Cranberry sandwich, more a boxing day meal but still festive all the same

I expect this to go up as the days progress, anyone else entered into their period of Festive feasting??

  • 2 mince pies… lightweight.
I polished off a box of 18 over the course of last week alone!

Also had a (really bad) Christmas dinner at my works do, put me off turkey if I'm completely honest.

  • Doing Ok at the moment. Probably because stuck in my head is the fact that I'll be having 2 Xmas dinners next Tuesday!

    I love food, I do.

  • you guys are way behind, i've already started on my easter hot-cross buns. can you beleive sainsbury's stock them already!

  • I count mince pies by packs rather than individually.

What! I gota get me down Mr Sainsbury's.

  • Yup, it's pretty easy to easy a six pack inna a day. But heating them up, witha bit of brandy, is the best way to enjoy them.

Oh, and I had my first christmas dinner in mid October (Greenwich Council press thing). Can anyone beat that?

  • ben, you should be in class, back to school work or your teacher will give you detention!!

My year round "regime" is a mixture of butter, pork, egg and raisin based products and lots of booze. So far the festive period is right on track.

Ha ha! Clearly the barometer by which poshness is judged!

My personal favoiurates are sainsbury's puff pastry mince pies heated up. Mmmmm. I may go buy some at lunch time.

  • A couple of dozen mince pies, into the double figures for Xmas-type ales, probably about a kilo of chocolate that was packaged in festively designed foil, 500g brussel sprouts, 2 vacuum packs of chestnuts, 500g mixed nuts, a bottle of champagne, 1 nut roast, half a dozen glasses of port, and counting...

Obviously this has been supplemented by huge piles of pasta, acres of pizza, EU surplus mountains of organic grains and vegetables, and entire continents of cheesecake, but those are my year round staples anyway :)

    I'm such a fat fuck.

If you're talking about butternut squash, yep, I've been eating some of that too.

  • Mmm.. pumpkin soup.. that'd be nice.

I'm eating Lindt chocolates. Probably time to get lunch.

  • second Pret xmas sandwich of the season. 10p goes to charity. what a generous cnut i am.

  • I had ham, eggs, chips, bread and butter and tea for lunch and now I'm drinking bucks fizz at my desk. Had a few mince pies and satsumas earlier and will prob have another mince pie in a bit. Awesome.

  • Just had half an 800g tin of M&S Xmas biscuit selection courtesy of g'parents-in-law. I was intending to have a healthy sandwich during a flying visit home for lunch, but they were there on the table and...

Still not gained any weight since hillclimb season though. What's going on with my metabolism?

  • I baked 36 mince pies on Sunday. My Mrs, assuming that my pies would be crap, bought another dozen from Dunns. Fortunately, my pies were great. Ate four with ice cream, and another two without. Then more in the days since.
