that'd be super ted, friends of andypancake and dexterflexter, he has the dubious honour of also losing 6 bikes this year

It was an impressive sight. -

White arrospokk, gold spinergy.
I'm sold.

If you want to do that, get a BMX. Please don't make fixed the cycling equivalent of rollerblading to skating!
Sorry Ben, don't mean to be rude but I think it is a genuine worry.

It's called a tailwip for ref.
Of course bmx is better for tricks.
But it is fun to do tricks on any bike.
So why not.

normally i would make some kind of rude offensive comment......but that would go against the new aidan rules

Mouse, there's no way that you can equate fixed bikes with zoom boots - EVER...
Honestly, no. ; )

I rode BMX for years, and people would always yell at me while I was riding and tell me to get a "real bike." I never listened.
Now I'm riding a "real bike" and people tell me to get a BMX bike. I'm still not listening ;)

Tommy: because people will think that with Arrospok and top tube pads you're trying to live out some 80s BMX nostalgia.
Sano: this is my concern, it's why I voiced it. I've seen that 'Waiting 4' video and all I can say is I feel uncomfortable about it.

Is with you on the image bit. I am not really into the image part of it, but it is good fun.

i have an idea......
im going to 'fix' my bmx then ill kick their arses! hahawell for me my fixgear is for speed and trasport, maybe a skid and a trackstand here and there..
I have a bmx which wont brake half as quick doing 'tricks and stunts'. to be honest tricks on a fix looks as graceful as a full susser riding around a town! haha. -

I used to work for a circus, these guys tricks look totally lame in comparison to bmxers and trials bikes and are about 5% the skill level of circus cyclists.....not a crticism, just an observation.

I did admin, but met lots of interesting peole, genuine bearded ladies and the like, had to take wages and lots of cash out to various parts of country ..Met Zippo and Gerry Cottle many times...and got free tickets to lot's of amazing shows....the cyclists in "Que Cirque" and "Eloise" were unbelievable.
took a tumbling course once...I was already approaching 30, everyone in my class seemed to be teenage, supple, double-jointed females.....I didn't last long!

You didn't last long in a class full of teenage, supple, double-jointed females?
I think you may have had a motivational issue... ;)

Burd Please note that we will have these available only in NTSC format.
I can do a near lossless conversion to PAL if you want, just supply me with a 29.97fps/30fps NTSC (preferably uncompressed - or at a push I can do it from a DVD) FHA or 4:3 is good - and let my beautiful FIR scalers and magical algorithms do their magic.
You can then burn proper PAL DVDs for people who don't want to play them on their computer only.
My charge ? A copy of the DVD would be cool :)

Don't most PAL DVD players also play NTSC format DVDs these days? The disc will be region free, so that won't be an issue...? We've already received a bunch of orders from England/Europe, so I guess we need to make sure we have this sorted out, ha ha.

Damn those pesky kids, I would have got away with my free DVD if it wasn't for their meddling.
Yeah, more and more PAL DVD players handle NTSC ( but not all !!! :) ) - also your rubbish NTSC ( never the same colour twice :) ) signal will never look that great here in the UK as we are used to the marvelous higher resolution of PAL.
:P
It was worth a try anyhow !

You should be good to go. Have you thought of getting a few into some local bike shops ?

That sounds fun, I imagine that must be alot like martial arts stuff learning how to fall e.t.c. Like I said sounds fun.

it's not 2008 yet, so any resolutions prior to new years are void.

Just watched the video and it's weak.
Sorry boys but unless you join the circus and hone your balletic skills like Winston did your stuff is just embarrassing. Not saying that I can do it and not saying that its not fun but I could put up a vid of my mates skating, snowboarding or whatever and it would be embarrassing vs. people who can do that shit for real.
Sorry Burd you seem like a cool dude but I like fixed gear bikes - I don't like snake boards or roller blades.
Sorry mate.
A friend recently sent me this gif of a Londoner doing a fakie on a bank, so I thought some of you might be interested in a DVD project that will be coming out in mid-January...
Bootleg Sessions
Check out the "official" trailer [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhO_26p0hJs"]YouTube
- Fixed Gear Track Bike DVD "Bootleg Sessions v.1"[/ame].
We're taking pre-orders now, and the first run has almost sold out already, so don't dilly-dally if you think you might want a copy. Please note that we will have these available only in NTSC format.
I've posted about this in quite a few forums now, and I always finish with the same thing... sorry about the spammy post! Just trying to get the word out to those who might be interested, and these forums have proven to be the best way to do that.
