ah ah ah.
i think "good on 'em", and admire their skills of mechanical conversion. and if the frame is nice, then bike is nice. is no such thing as 'fixed gear frame', really, but that's pedantry. track frames are the ideal, i guess. i do like a really nice conversion though.

yeah! i think "what a twat, whats wrong with a real fixed gear frame?" and then continue riding back home to prickland.
-
• #4
Yeah I try and run them off the road. Bunch of cnuts - why don't they just get a car?

I whip it out and piss on their lower back before making a comment about the wet roads.

As long as it hav arrospok, it's all good.

I ride a road-bike conversion with absolutely no shame! It's not perfect due to a long stem and slightly small frame, but i like it.
When someone with proper fork-ends (edited) overtakes me I just swallow my pride and crash the fcuk into them. ;-) -

umm intrestring.,.......its been discussed a million times...fireball;no one gives a shit about what other people ride..ocationaly we take the piss out of bikes such as langsters but thats just for a laugh..its not about what you ride...its about riding.

I sneer at those who haven't spent weeks, months sourcing parts and painstakingly building their conversion.
Therein lies the joy.

Oh my god the ignoranus has landed.
Read up on how fixed wheel have evolved along the years.
Read up on the different things that people use it for.
Finish puberty.
Realise you have been a fool, but don't worry too much as thou shall be forgiven.

all i know is, of all my fixed gears, the road conversion gets picked on by the two track bikes. Poor little thing, i found it yesterday cowering in a tree, shivering due to rain and sobbing.
there is no such thing as a 'fixie' frame. get yourself a frame and build it.

fireball i mean when you ride your fixed gear bike
and you have a fixed gear frame then you see people with road bike frame converted to fixed gear
how do you feel ?I feel outraged, insulted even, I can remain livid for hours/day.
any bad intention or insault to the guy who ride a converted fixie bike?
Yes, I have bad intentions.
i just want to know
Are you a 'guy' ?

You need to keep them in separate stables, the RSPCRC are cracking down on this kind of thing.
I saw a road conversion being chased up Oxford street by a Fuji Track Pro this morning, track bikes can be vicious when on heat, so like I say it is always best to keep them separate if you can.

if i had some spare time i'd make a documentary.
Maybe over winter. (but then many track bikes are hibernating).Winter truly is the time for the road conversions to relax, and go about their daily routines without the threat of predatory track attacks.

"ignoanus"
what? is like igno-anus?
or like ignoramus?
-
• #21
I don't even know why they should be called conversions, after all when all bikes were fixed to put gears on would have been a conversion.
all thats changing is the drivetrain, on a bike designed for the road, continued to be ridden on the road.
track bikes are designed for velodromes...
ride what works for you and fuck any other cunt

It is the gang mentality of track bikes in London that is the most concerning thing. My Peugeot was forced to lock itself outside a police station in East London, during the summer, for fear of further racist/fixist attacks. Taunts like "fnck off froggy", and "if we see you around here without gears, we'll break your spokes" have left the Pug in fear for it's safety.
Some so-called 'cyclists' have been found to harbour not only track frames, but also road conversions in the same house!, forcing the RC out in the sh!t weather, and leaving them in some of the dodgier parts of the city, all the while saving the track frames for the better weather and recreational rides.
Thank god for all of the fair-weather track bikes' fear of the cold/salt/rain, otherwise my Peugeot may well become redundant.

i ride a conversion because it was all i could afford and was too eager to wait and save for a track bike.
my conversion has cost me fucking loads by adding little things to it like nitto bars(god knows why) but i do love it:)

Did anyone see the documentary called 'fix club' on Channel 4 a month or so ago ?
Absolutely disgusting footage of illegal track bikes fighting to the death in the shady back rooms of dubious East London pubs and clubs.
These bikes are not the domestic track bike we know and love, they have been built up with all NJS parts - had their top tube pad shaven off and their bars cropped - these things are bred to do one thing only, fight. Regardless of who wins, along with the loser, the 'victor' usually ends up being put down as it can often be so badly damaged that it wouldn't survive even a quick ride to the newsagent under the fat arse of a fakenger.
