Hi to all you bike lovers, i live in south west london and see very few other ss/fixed riders just wondering iftheres any out there

Didn't you know? SW London has banned the use of all pedal cycles since the case of Jackson vs. Prenderghast. Once a cycle was proved to have used the same road as Jackson's BMW X5, thereby, in the judge's eyes, slowing the X5's forward progress, they were banned from most SW boroughs. There's a map on TFL's website outlining where you are allowed to ride but it's pretty much killed the scene there. We all know know the decision was ridiculous and there's a petition to have the ruling overturned: http://www.southwestridersrights.org.uk. Please do add your name to the list. Once we have 5000 cyclists we have the right to appeal this crazy decision.

There's plenty on here; Mr Smith & RPM in Tooting, Fatbloke & Fatboyralph are rotundly residing in Wimbledon Park, I'm in Southfields along with the mystery Touche rider. SW also has one of the best fixed shops - Brixton cycles.

RPM will be dropping by soon to chuck some abuse ;-)

yeh i used to hang out down brixton when i was a skateboarder the cycle shop is next to the ramps right?

South-west London has been known for its tolerance and for the welcome it gives to refugees since the arrival of the French Huguenots here in the eighteenth century. In the past couple of years we have welcomed all the tiny derailleurs cruelly thrown out of their homes in Clerkenwell, Hoxton and Shoreditch during the Great Hipster Revolution. I, for instance, have given a home to a total of ten derailleurs, and they live in harmony in my garage with my two fixed-gear bikes, who are ashamed at the intolerance shown by their cousins in the East.

So it's not that there are no fixed-gear bikes here - you'll just see more geared bikes. But although things are good here, most of them are dreaming of one day returning to the old country, and once more being pissed on by a tramp while left parked outside the Brick Lane Beigel Bake at 3am while their owner is inside being given botulism, or whatever it is you do in E1...

(I'm in Southfields too, btw willski, near the station...)

I'm in Wandsworth, rarely see any other fixed on daily ride until i hit the embankment and then bang, its ss Langsters all the way. Although today saw a ss Condor and a ss beater on Wandsworth bridge.Sometimes see the tallest fixed gear rider in London on way home. Must be 7ft tall , riding a SJ Cycles frame , spinning the lowest gear known to man , makes me smile evertime.

Hippy is right about the ban on cycles in SW London, there is a an underground group though operating illegally, often seen in packs around the Richmond Park area, apparently known as London Dynamo.I've heard there is a joining ritual, where you prove your alligence by showing that you wear your team colours at all time day and night, drive a BMW , work in the city , own at least 2 of the most expensive bikes currently on sale in Condor, and most importantly have no idea of how to ride in a group when in Richmond Park on a saturday morning.

I'm also a SW'er on the border of Putney & Barnes.

im on melrose rd SW18 so i guess that puts me in wandsworth. but id like to say east putney...cos it's more posh innit

see thats what i like to see people showing some pride in their area. im down in clapham which used to be a shit heap now a load of trendy wine bars have moved in so its a brightly lit shitheap lol but regardles its where i call home

i'm normally a putney boy, but for the time being I'm pretending to study hard in sunny oxfordshire

The Wickham Arms is reasonably bike-friendly (loads of space on the decking out the front).

No lets make it a Greenwich pub so people who live s.e but not brockley (me) don't have to ride quite so far.
