Like was said on the other thread (that rhymes).. you get arseholes in car, buses, taxis and walking. On scooters, on motos, on hovercraft. Riding is no exception.
I get this sometimes and do the same as I would a car - hold my position, often sticking my arms out to brace possible contact.
If he's moving into you he's more likely to bounce off you when trying dodgy moves.
Then you can kick his teeth in while he's lying safely on the ground in a twisted pile o' pista..
I'm so nice in the mornings.. -

You are such a Mallrat

don't let anyone on the road intimidate you, especially other cyclists, we all be in this together, and if other cyclists are going to act like cunts, then how can we truly save our rage for those that deserve it.
If it happens again just let the person know there's no more space and if they wait just a little while they will be safely on their way, if that doesn't work tell them to back the fuck up and stop being such a cunt, and if they need to get to their destination that quick they should have left the house earlier... -

Yeah! or, they should have had the foresight to live closer to where they are trying to get to!

Ride wide - don't give the crazy kiddies a chance to get past.

i met a nice cnut on a brompton. i didn't mean to cut him up, honest, but i was going to get mashed by a lorry. didn't make contact with him in anyway, but 30 seconds later he came past me on the right and shouldered me good and hard, threatening that he should knock me off my fckuing bike. prick. don't think it was a monday either. if anyone sees a twat on a brompton on old street heading to cleckenwell give him a salute for me.
i agree, you get twats in all walks of life. generally walking. haha -

Someone on a little Brompton flew out of a side street last night and cut me up..
Attack of the Bromptons!
(Rated R for strong violence, strong language and frequent use of trouser clips)

Last night, riding home along Theobald Road, I was a few feet behind a lass on her bike, we were next to a bendy bus, and a couple of cabs were passing on the right near the lights!
Now, that is a chaotic space at the best of times, but last night, this girl was totally out of controll on her Pashley style ride... Trying to avoid being squeezed by the cab,
I pushed hard to get ahead of it and the bendy bus, this girl is weaving around, suddenly stopping and pretty much falling into my path! I asked what she was doing, and she was
dangerous - she replied that my brakes had scared her? Yes, they do squeal a bit as they are rubbish pads, but I only braked when she fell in front of me? I wasn't been agro
but some people should not be allowed to ride bike without training!!! -

So she was scared of your brakes? That's the shittest excuse for bad riding I've ever heard. I guess she wasn't scared of the 30ft 10ton big red thing that could easily run her over then?

I know, mad woman... well, girl. Seemed oblivioius to the traffic dangers, and her skirt and slip on pump style shoes.
No helmet - and she really needed one, preferably full face the way she was riding!!!
I expect bad road manners from cars. From lorries. From buses.
But the other day some guy on a shiny bianchi pista decided to run into my back wheel when I decided that the gap between a bus and taxi wasn't wide enough to get through safely and slowed down. He didn't just run into my back wheel, but started to try to force me into the taxi so he could squeeze past into the 30cm gap. And then got incredibly angry when I put my hand up in a 'Don't try to go past' kind of way and threatened various kinds of bodily harm which, needless to say, he wasn't about to follow through on.
What gives? I thought we cyclists were all in it together etc...
Anyone else feel that the recent arrival of new cyclists has increased the amount of aggro on the road? The experienced roadies I ride with with gears are still all very chilled, even with n00b long distance riders like myself...
