  • So I won £60 in a works lottery thing at the weekend and I'm not sure what I should buy. It's going on the bike and my clips just broke. Is it worth trying to get some shoes and clipless pedals? That was my first thought but finding them under £60 is difficult. Does anyone have any road pedals they want to offer me for a good price?

  • Ah I'm just going to buy some clips and some clothing because my 3/4 lenghts and woolen pullover aren't working that well with the cold.

  • are you talking to yourself again?

i have road pedals spare, but they are proper road pedals, shimano jobbies. you can't really walk off the bike in them. unless you like looking/strutting like mr tumnus.

  • buy another fuji track :p

  • you know they are really good bikes for the price and u can swap out the stuff later when you want :p

  • Yeah I'm talking to myself I suppose. It's proper road pedals I'm looking for. I don't do much walking off the bike so should be fine. My flat mate has road pedals and the only time I walk with them off the bike is when we're both in Tesco so I wont look like a compelte wanker. How much do you want for the pedals pj?

  • £60 move to a clipless setup. Wiggle has Izumis cheap (£40) at the mo'

  • You'll be able to pick up cheap road pedals on ebay and then get some new shoes that fit you well. If you have size 12 feet then I have a complete set of shoes + pedals (Specialized s-works with carbon soles + Campy pro fit ti pedals) that I want to sell.

Otherwise I have some road spd pedals that you can have for free, but not sure what cleats they use.

  • I just bought a pair of Sidi Raiden shoes and Shimano R540 SPD-SL pedals with cleats. Happy with my purchase. Have tried on Sidi's in the past and that's why I picked them over others because I know the sizing will be good.

  • Just make sure you scuff em up good & proper ;o)

  • clips + double straps.

  • +1 for really stylish ones.

  • i bought some shoes and clips last week for the first time ever (had always used toeclips before). my cycling has been transformed! i cannot recommend this method higher on a fixed wheel.

  • Hey there.

I'm leaving my job and have been informed that they have collected £100 (don't laugh - its only a v small company...) for my present and would like to buy me something for my bike.

    What to get?

    A good lock?

I have to tell them today/tomorrow and my brain is blank!

    Thanks for any advise.

So make it something you can sell

  • Take something that you can cash convert on here, then spend the money on booze.

  • put it towards the new polo build!

because seriously hun, that blue thing is gonna fold like a crisp packet any day now!

  • Amazon was doing a NewYork Fag for under £50 the other day, get two of them then sell them on here.

  • damn, you could have ordered my new pedals for me and i would have paid you back
