What about any MTB flat bar? Loads and loads of options there. Not that much different than the Nitto bar aside from finish. Plenty that come in silver:

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=372
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=372for example. And a fair number turn up t'Bay and other sites. It can though be hard to find perfectly flat bars like the Nittos.

have you tried brixton cycles? I was there this morning and they had a few nitto handle bars in there. i only really noticed the moustache bars (because deep down inside, i quite like them... but not enough to replace my chop and flops) but they may have the flat bars as well. worth a try...

Quite tempted by the car scratchers.....
.....straight bars, I find uncomfortable, prefer a little

I had an e-mail exchange with Mosquito about parts.
They said they would get them in with their bike orders if requested - they don't have stock at the moment.
Not sure if that would be quicker than ordering direct.

Any current recommendations for silver flatbars? All those products on Chain Reaction are now discontinued.

How about the courier steel flat bars that Fresh Tripe sell for a tenner? Aside from the Nitto bars being alloy and these being steel what's the difference?
-
• #19
well, it's cheaper.
they're straight bar mate, I doubt you'd notice difference betweeen each make of bar, other than the obvious alu and steel.

Go find a scaffolding pole, or a broomstick. Or just a stick.
You'll definitely turn heads! Probably from side to side in a shaking motion, accompanied by a slightly bemused/disappointed expression.

buy a 2 meter section of steel/aluminium tube-probably 18/16 gauge(probably cost £10 all in), cut it down to the size you need then cut a couple of extras that are 500mm wide, file the ends, polish/lacquer them, keep one, sell the rest to forumengers for little dorrah and pay for the cost of materials and a couple of beers for you effort.
