Ooh, that's right by my mum and dads and it's my birthday too. I might go in the morning if anybody else fancies going.

Its a pretty short ride from Epping itself if you get the train/bus out there. Or if you're in Hackney/Leyton its about an hour each way by bike (prob a bit longer if you don't know the route). Nice ride, pretty easy and with a nice mellow jumble on the end of it.

Generally a few gems down there.

excellent need frame, how long is it by public transport from north london? Any ideas. I'm not strapping a frame to my back and cycling home.

Do what I did, take a friend and make sure you're riding a BMX making it impossible for you to lug it back... ;-)

i've been back in london for 5 months and i'm on to my 6/7/8th bike. hence it's probably not the best for me to go there. Aidan's just jealous as he wants to keep all the guys to himself :P

Well I met Roxie and Laura they were very nice but I'm not American. Hops I met at work when I chewed her ear about starting messenging. Some might say we look similiar, some might not. more blond than brunette. Have a red universal/raleigh racer thats too big for me. Giggle alot.

though only downside of the location is (like Ripley) its not very ammenable for folks on public transportation. Not too sure how you close the gap between Epping and Thornwood, I think theres a bus. Well theres always http://www.tfl.gov.uk so you can figure it out :)

Hving lived there (epping/theydon bois) do not rely on the buses. They are are the old style single deckers and may still go nowhere near where you need to be. Ride or drive, walk even. It'll be quicker.

this is the problem Hammo I would prefer to cycle but I can't manage a frame on my back.
Are the buses really that crap? this is why I started cycling in the first place.

ruck sack plus some extra straps it is easy. A frame on it's own would be like riding with an average rucksack any way so not much waight. If you are worried get someone to ride behind you. Start a list for a group meeting a a station catch a train up with some people and then you will have company :)
