as mentioned in a previous thread. no such thing as a cheap track frame anymore, lucky to get something below £200. people won't sell on here as they can make more £'s on ebay.

there is a bike jumble up in ripley on this weekend I believe, I'm pretty sure Roberto will be there, and you can potter about looking at and buying lots of stuff. Actually now I type this I might head down there myself, need some hubs and rims for an extra wheelset.
But be warned you'll need to get there early so you can get a look at some of the good stuff before the eager beavers get their paws on them.
Check out the places link on the top to find out where exactly it is, there is a previous ripley jumble thread as some of the people on the forum like to get a train to ripley and then cycle to the jumble. -

I already can imagine that frame painted in orange, with white bands and lugs outline in black or white... ahhhh!

Anyone heard of a geoffrey butler frame? Seen an old one for sale and wondered if it's worth a punt.

nice yellowKinda depends on a few things: how much does it sell for and what's your budget? is it your size? how much knowledge/time/tools you got to build it?
It's cheap right now but it has ages to run and all the big bids come in last 10sec anyway -

i've got a fiar bit of time and I've decided not to go for the fuji track route as i've not got the cash for replacing those shitty wheels etc. I'm building knowledge all the time although i've not got any of the specialist tools. I'm kinda on the road of "you gotta start somewhere" but I have just sold my road bike and now already a bit twitchy at having to catch the tube in the morning! Your right though, i've got a limited budget and i reckon even that old thing will go way past my wallet.

You wont need to replace the wheels on the Fuji straight up. Fit a brake and ride it.
The money you save on Tube fares you can put towards a new frame or replacing components..
Still keep an eye on this frame as well as ebay in general but you will find most 'bargains' are ramped up to stupid territory by dumb bidders.
That's what I'd do on low funds. Off the shelf is always cheaper. Everyone here will say build your own but if you've got no other bike I say "fsck that! get on a bike asap!" -

that's thrown a spanner in the works!! How i'm back to the big decision again... fuck!
Seriously though, cheers for the comments. I reckon i will go mad with all those miserable fuckers everday from brixton to finsbury park!
Hi guys,
