i've had a few things from aspirevelotech - they are awsome. Quick (free!) delivery and always marking prices down so you don't get stung by customs

John at Business Cycles is sound as a pound, but Customs and Extortion and ParcelFarce invariably fuck up his good work.
Or indeed the good work of any overseas supplier.
My Pac took less time to get from the arse-end-of-nowhere-in-Canada to London Heathrow than it did to get to London from London Heathrow.
Ditto my Nitto.
My Keirinman goodies from Tokyo took less than three days tho...

I got some phil wood hubs red anodized from aspire velotech, no customs sting, quick/free delivery, pleasure doing business with them, can't say anything bad against them.
all good as far as I'm concerned, and with the power of the pound, can't really go wrong. -

bought a $24 white chain a couple months ago from states, no customs charge. just ordered some more expensive goodies, see how they go.

I got my rear Phil direct from the factory... Just put an order in on the website and *specifically *ask them (it was a guy called Mike when I used them) to put a reduced amount on the parcel for customs and to mark it as a business sample (or whatever it is)... Hub arrived in about 3 days... No charges to pay... Awesome...

Just a warning on customs charges, don't order something that is low-priced.
Royal Mail have increased their "processing fee" to £8 per package when they charge you customs charges. So if you order something for $30 and only pay £3 customs, you will also have to pay the £8 fee to Royal Mail and that will wipe out any savings that you made.
For smaller items, it's now cheaper to order from the UK because of that processing fee.
For larger items, it's cheapest to get someone who is going there to be a mule.

Universal Cycles in Portland sent me a Nitto stem last month. The total cost, including postage, was about thirty quid. They had marked the price down a wee bit. But by rights, I should've still had to pay excise on it. And yet Mr Postman handed it over without demanding monies. There's no rhyme or reason to it. Just seems to be down to luck.

Universal has amazing prices (the best) on Phil hubs, and if you type vip10, for a coupon code- 10% off $100+ and vip15, 15% off $300+

Otherwise you can get the Dia Compe hubs at Brixton cycles for about £85 per pair. They're meant to be good and they look nice too.
-
• #24
sweet heavens those pink anodised phil wood hubs are exceptional
-
• #25
bling bling has some red ones ;)
I received a headset today from aspirevelotech with no issues, They put the value down as $18.35 too, in case anyone was thinking of ordering from them.
Has anyone else been as lucky with anything else ordered from the states (such as Phil Wood hubs!). I'm very tempted!
