ambrosio's (formula/system ex/etc)
;)
-
• #3
length (or is it width?)
Does that mean hes sold em?
-
• #4
not as far as I know, I just asked him the same question earlier!
Width SHOULD be 120mm, don't think ambrosios come in other sizes? but I'm sure he'll reply soon..

• #5
note the cunningly edited topic.
-
• #6
A dremmel would do it..
-
• #7
as in, sand em down?
-
• #8
Grin and bear it I'm afraid, that is why they come in two versions.
I guess you could sand the paint down but that would look shite. -

balls.

• #10
get a dura-ace brake
-
• #11
disk brake
-
• #12
u kno, i want to see a few fixies with disc brakes. caliper brakes are shit in the wet.
disc brakes = the future.

Those guys descending the alps at 100kph don't seem to complain.. yeah, until they fly off the edge, but still.. or..
-
• #14
they still don't complain when they fly off the edges.
-
• #15
Whats the deal with that?
Would standard rims cope with the braking force of discs? -
• #16
ja man just get 36h

A girl here has a roadrat, really nice bike actually, but running cheapy V brakes. I almost went with Mavic A317s and a front disc when I built my wheels but thought a std rim brake would be better (simpler and lighter) after the recent spell of wet weather I'm less sure I made the right decision :(

Timmy rides an on-one inbred with a front hope disk. Seems a touch excessive to be honest.

i find that my bike is better in this sort of weather.
Easier to control.
And skid, etc. -
• #21
I have seen some guy riding in from s.e with a frount disk on what look like pace (style at least) ridgid mbt forks for suspension correct geometory not sure what frame it is though.
I hate riding in the rain as far as control goes, it is too easy to skid i.e you realise how little grip you have in the rain, but yet driver don't drive any different. Hmmmmm :(

sorry, been drooling over bits and pieces at roberto's. what's the question?
width of fr hub is 71mm, depth 71mm (i measured last night, as they are narrower than my new goldtecs)
-

I like the control of running fixed in this weather, much more feel to the road, but the front brake is poor once the rim is covered in greasy road crap, I guess I should get used to using the brake less and slowing on the pedals more (and learn to skid with some sort of control)

overall width 100mm.
possibly still for sale (with a nice solid white tyre). although they would look nice on the track frame i was eyeing.
