they look nice. very similar to a goldtec and look like sealed bearings??

Hmmmmmm, i'm not convinced! As far as I know, they only do 3 type of hub - Pro II, Pro III non disk and Disk.
They are not know for making single speed parts - but specialise in MTB parts! Of which I have plenty on mine.
Unless they are NOS then I would be wary of these myself? Have contacted them to see if they are genuine. -

Just mailed Hope to see if they say anything myself.
Would be nice to have another homegrown manufacturer of track stuff.

i had a hope ti single speed/fixed hub on my mtb for 13 years, no problems ever....
-
• #7
that looks sooooooo suspect!!
not too convinced about the shoddy looking nut and washer!
-

I stand corrected then, just never aware of them doing singlespeed stuff in the 17 years i've been Mountain Biking properly.
Like you say Pip, great for another UK based producer to start making high quality bits. -

Agreed, it does look similar to a hope (maybe it's a prototype??) But hope don't do fixed gear hubs, I've never heard of them making fixed gear/ track stuff, nothing is mentioned on their site, and that threaded axle doesn;t look "NEW", and not sure about the nut and washer, these dont look very Hope to me.
But the hub shell and drop-out grips look original.
I don't know, I'd be interested to see what reply Hope come back with

I remember a rumour that they once made some track hubs..
maybe it's an old prototype.

RPM I remember a rumour that they once made some track hubs..

in that case it raises the question of: why did'nt thay continue making them.....maybe they self destruct!
-
• #13
or maybe pressure from the mafia?
-
• #14
yeah, mafia.
and the fact that no fucker wanted them ten years ago except a handful of trackies.
-
• #15
Got my reply from Hope...
"We have made track hubs in the past, approx 10 years ago. We are not planning on making any more in the future."
So unless they are NOS, these are snide.

tease....
it's a tandem hub. -

I know it's an old thread, but this search is all I could come up with to confirm these exist. I have a set of Hope track hubs built into Wolber AT18 rims and the whole lot is practically brand new. They are for sale on Retrobike, but here are some images to put truth to myth...

theres no lockring thread?! so isn't it just been respaced for an old block cassette or single freewheel.
-
• #20
And laced to 26" rims, hmm...
-
• #21
I spoke to Hope and they want to see some pictures. All they said was that the lockring behind the sprocket was left hand thread!
I'll update when they come back to me...

And they for QR, not exactly normal for track hubs.

You're not really paying attention. Are you?

Land of nod.
It is holiday week, so late nights and late starts all around.
Anyone know anything about these? I've seen the odd one pop up on ebay, but they don't seem to be listed on the Hope website. Are they generally available?
Like this one for example:
