  • Spotted a vintage (80's?) Colnago at my (new!) LBS this morning. It's a complete bike. 57cm frame in red. Didn't look that closely but it looked to be in good order but not been used for a while. They want £200 for it. Probably too much for a fixie project but let me know if anyone might be interested. The shop's in Chichester.

  • Man if I wasn't moving to Chicago (and thus broke) I'd be all over that. Been looking for a vintage Colnago/Merckx for a long time and its my size.

  • Road or track?

  • I was guessing as he said "fixie project" that its a road bike. 200 quid for a complete Colnago track bike would be madness (they'd have a queue outside of their door tomorrow morning).

  • Twas what i was thinking.

  • Hi. It's a road bike.

  • can you get a pic?

  • Which shop? I'm a closet roadie..

80's = Vintage = hehe = does that mean I'm an old man = aww crap!

  • Hi all.

Bike is at the (ironically-named!) Geared Bikes of Chichester in West Sussex (http://www.gearedbikes.co.uk). Mention my name if you call them otherwise they might wonder how you know about it. Please only call them if you're seriously interested!

No chance of a photo I'm afraid as I won't have time to get over there and take one.

  • That sounds like a steal... you could probably make £100+ on it without even trying....

  • did it look like this...?

  • That's the road version of mine - same colour scheme anyway...

  • I want a vintage Italian road bike (with gears) 57cm is a little too big though...:(

  • Well none of you lot seemed to be getting you arses down to Sussex so I bought it myself! :-)

It's a Colnago SL from about 1990. Seriously nice Campag groupset. On tubs. It's been in someone's garage for a good few years but I put some air in the tyres and took it for 1 20-mile test run. It's the nicest bike I've ever ridden. Not saying much though as my usual budget is £20ish...

No idea what I'm going to do with it yet.

  • pics pics!!!

  • Here it is!

Few too many of them there 'gears' at the moment. Will need to see to that...

  • liking de lugs

  • Please don't 'fix' it!
    It's not broken...

  • Simon I am so happy you bought that bike, but leave the gears on, that is one sweet bike, just the way it is...

(57cm is 2cm to big for me otherwise I'd have given them a call)

  • i agree..

  • shallow and pedantic

  • strip it

    fix it

  • nahh im messing, its a beautiful bike, i would love to have the moneys to buy a geared mistress

  • I'm jealous, I'd love a pedigree Italian geared up racer, I'd go find a mountain to climb
