I have a similar one, an Electron "Backupz" - there's a review of them on here: http://www.roadcyclinguk.com/news/article/mps/UAN/405/v/2/sp/
I wouldn't ever use it (I only have the front one) on its own, but i do in combination with a normal front light. I want my bike to look like a disco when it's dark so I'm seen :)
Quite useful to keep in my bag for emergencies, too.

get some knog's they last longer and are brighter
-
• #16
Like 31trum I'd say go with the knog frogs, they're the brightest, longets lasting and best looking light of this kind I've found.
The cheapest I've found them on ebay is here:
if you're in London Bikefixdo them for £7ish.
Knog do a 5 LED version of this:
I've not tried one, but am tempted. I've got a Dinotte, that gives awesome visibility but is way too expensive to leave on the bike unattended and it's a pain having to remove both the light and battery pack everytime I lock the bike up. Before I just had three of the knogs wrapped around the seatpost and chainstays that gave pretty good visibilty, take all of 10 seconds to remove and you can just stick em in your pocket. Highly recommended. That said I'm still really impressed by the Dinotte and as long as it's on the bike love it.

How quick is it to remove the dinotte? The little rubber rings look a bit fiddly rather than a straightforward clamp.
-
• #18
Takes about 15 seconds to remove a Dinotte. The 'tricky' part isn't the light o-ring, it's the velcro around the stem that holds the batt. pack.
Getting them on takes a bit longer but not much. Sweet light!I used to have one of those Backupz.. but it's in Oz not working. I want a Frog or two to use as backups for, say, impromptu night rides..

Like Hippy says removing the light bit of the Dinotte is a breeze, it's the velcro bit of the battery back which is the pain, it doesn't take forever to take it off but it definitely feels more like a couple of minutes than 15 seconds, maybe I'm just impatient.
On balance I still think the Dinottes are fab, best lights I've ever bought, one problem I have had with the rear light is that convenient as the o-ring mounting is, while it holds the light to your seatpost very securely, it doesn't do so rigidly, so while I've never worried that it'll fall off I do have a tendency to catch it with the inside of my leg and push it around the seatpost so it doesn't point straight back but off at an angle. Not a major problem but still a bit of a niggle.

A couple of minutes? It's only one bit of velcro (I don't use the little one).
With the rear light - can you mount it to the seat-tube of the frame and shine it through the seatstays rather than on the seatpost? -
• #22
Aaaare! It's the little sticky one that causes the problem, I have this tight under the bigger velcro strap as I found the bigger strap got a bit loose without it.
-
• #23
Interesting to hear your thoughts, I've been looking at buying them for a while because they look good and are really bright, but still small.
-
• #24
I got them because I wanted something for night riding on a road bike. They had to be small, not sacrifice a bottle cage or add too much weight, brighter the better, last as long as possible. Dinotte fits the bill nicely!

finally got them from my friend! they were way cheaper than Evans :P
they look nice and soo easy to cary!
Anyone heard of or seen these before?
