Sorry about that - I didn't realise they weren't actually featured in the link page (doh). If you drop them an e-mail they'll give you a price for a pair of Ambrosio track wheels, the dishing is completely different than for geared bikes. This is the e-mail: info@davehinde.com

  • cool, i just emailed both peeps!

  • Just be aware that Dave Hinde has the worst reputation of all the internet bike shops that I've heard of. Really bad service and appalling attitude when things go wrong (which happens quite frequently). Have a google for sonic cycles for another good and quite cheap London wheel builder.

  • News to me - I've only ever bought from them face to face and not had any problems. Nor do I know of anyone else who has, otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned the store.

  • If you want a wheel built for a tenner let me know. You supply the parts and I'll build it for you. I'm in SE26.

check out my wheel building site

  • cool man - maybe u should try to repair my rear wheel! :)
what's the queue like at the moment?

  • I have 2 wheels on the go at the moment and one person sending parts in the post. So you'd be 3rd in the queue. If you wheel is a bit out of true then I can probably sort it, but if the rim is damaged then you'll need a new rim and that usually means new spokes too. You can check the amount of damage yourself by measuring the amount of deflection or wobble. More than about 8 mm and it's time for a new rim really. You can only tighten spokes so much. I'm happy to have a look at it and see if it can be repaired. But without knowing the extent of the damage I can't really say. Let me know if you'd like to pop it round.

  • Here's a taster of the stuff that's on the web: http://www.cyclingplus.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=121947&SearchTerms=,dave,hinde and you'll see that the negative feedback for their ebay shop (number1bikebits) is pretty uninspiring. I'm sure they're ok sometimes but I see no reason to buy from people like this when there are many places which are as cheap and have good customer service as well.

To the original poster, I can also recommend outspoken cycles who built me two sets of very good wheels for a great price (Ambrosios built to Open Pros for £115 delivered).
