  • Only Brick Lane sell them, right? Bill seems to think nothing matches them, and for a bit more I'd rather get something a lot better than a Chrome. I can't wait for a custom one, I don't think I can tolerate another day of lunch, water, clothes, paperback, NY 3000, Evo Mini and a cable lock in my Eastpak backpack.

  • I've got one on order..... can't wait

  • Mail Patty and see what she has in stock.

Mine only took a few days to come through, and even with shipping and HMC+Extortion is was still less than UK price.

  • Hmm, yeah - depending on how much they are in Brick Lane I might just import it as you said.

  • How can be something be a lot better than a Chrome?

  • I've been using one (virtually) every day for the last 3years (the Ultimate with X-strap) and it's a great bag. If I'm gonna be picky, its quite a heavy one, and the velcro doesn't seem as tough as it used to be, but it is one tough bag, and one i'd highly recommend. Any question I can answer about them, ask away.

    Cheers!

  • they are also about £70 quid cheaper if you order direct from Pac and including shipping......

o trust me they are that much better!!!!! I had a Kremlin which I thought was the best until I got my Pac OS and the Kremlin is sold now. The comfort and usability of it is outstanding. Check out my pics to make you change your mind. Pac Bag Pics

Oh I understand you completely but trust me its worth the wait, big time. I was like a addict in rehab waiting and sweating for this bag but I absolutely love it. Yes you deserve way better than a Chrome! Chrome sucks compared to it even though the Chrome is a great bag in itself. Yes its expensive but it is very worth the investment. Call her up to order and bargain with her because there is a error on bag prices on her site for the Deluxe and the OS (This is how I got a little discount).

  • TheDude How can be something be a lot better than a Chrome?

Both are really good bags, but i agree, can't say it's "a loooot better" than a Chrome.

I am not a courier but did use a Chrome Kremlin for about one year, carrying huge stuff like frames, wheels, my shop from Tesco etc.

Well both bags are very confortable. The only advantage i could see on the PAC is it's better when carrying huge/heavy stuff, cos it comes with a millions of straps, plus that X-strap in the middle helps to distribute the weight.

  • Ta for advice, all.

My plan is to go into Brick Lane and Condor to try out PAC and Chrome respectively. I'll ask 'em to chuck a couple of chain locks in them and I'll see how comfy they feel. If the PAC does seem worth the wait, I'll wait.

Yeah I'm not a courier either, I just want a decent bag to commute to work/uni - laptop, text books, change of t-shirt, food etc.

I agree that you should try each one, especially as which-ever you choose is going to seperate you from a considerable sum of money.

  • what are the prices then?

  • are the bagjack alleycat bags any good???

  • thanks man, going to post office now for you 8^)

  • Empty pint glass..

  • got the "scottish" tenner, but met him in the pub.......so spent it on beer 8^)
    sent recorded to you scott

how much are chrome and pac respectively?

  • thanks

  • no problem scott

  • Yeah, no worries SNS, I'll spend your cash on booze any time.. ;)

  • eeehhhh - did I just see u in Brick Lane Bikes, buying a PAC? I was also wearing a green t-shirt..... working at the counter with a Crumpler bag which was dismissed in favour of a Pac! :-)

If not, someone with exactly the same thoughts on PAC or Chrome was in there just now!

  • I have to add one proviso - after 1 years hard messengering, the stitching on Selim's O/S Deluxe started to undo.

He actually got the thing second hand.

I do rate Pac, but I also rate Baj-Jack. Just as good, if not better.

I should also add that I am mates with both Pat and Pe (old-skool messenger thing).

  • Velcro wears out. End of. There isn't a solution to the problem other than getting another strip sewn on. Erik did that on my Zo when he replaced the strap.
