allloymunuim, they are anodized not painted. good hardware shops sell tins of anodizing in various colours.

it's anodised, so suppose just find something a similar colour.

Just have them chromed. Gold-plated if you're chav-bred.

don't think you can chrome aluminium - at least i never heard of it being done.

leave it flaking off. The worse your bike looks the less chance some theiving vermin will put their grubby little cum-stained sausage fingers on it. yuk, imagine those dirty burglar-germs on your steed. doesn't bear thinking about.

It's not flaking off. It's literally just a 1 sq mm patch where it's been scratched and the metal is exposed. I was more concerned about corrosion really than anything else and the hub flange failing.

I wonder if you can buy rust paint, then one could just slosh it all over ones bicycle, thus deterring any potential interest from robbers.
Anyone know what Goldtec track hub flanges are made of?
My rear hub has a chip in the paint work on the edge of the flange, and I'm not sure whether to touch it up with a bit of black paint or nail varnish.
