  • Mario's on Kelly street in Kentish Town NW5. The best cafe in London period, on the best street in the best part of town. Mario is a don and makes the best damn cappuccino and full english possible.
Check it out and tell me otherwise. The boys at Rapha will agree as i hear from Mario they are regulars.
Anyone have any other cafe's to add to the hall of cafe fame?...

  • maggy's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in lewishem, its like an all you can eat breakie, and unlimited cups of tea and toast

  • aidan maggy's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    (look on your wheelie bin)

  • ohhh yeah...i couldnt be bothered to check it....does that mean i failed??

  • get in the bin

  • bangers and mash place on royal college street, nw1. nice.

  • andrews on grays inn road - downhill since they tarted it up but still the biz

  • Italo Uno in Charlotte street W1. Especially if you want to see the Tour de France.

  • Balans Cafe on Old Compton St, or the one with a garden in the middle of Archway roundabout.

  • for coffee - monmouth covent garden/borough market

  • I know that bangers and mash place. Is it any good? Looks pricy?

  • No, there's a new place that's just open that got the crown now. Mudchute Farm Cafe on the Isle of Dogs (in the farm). All ingredients locally sourced or from the farm, amazing. Run by two chefs who used to work in The Rivington. Food is ace and they make home-made baked beans on toast for £2.50. Might be a trek if you're not east/south but it's worth it!

  • wow £2.50 for a tin of baked beans and 1/2 a slice of bread those beans better be bloody good !!

oh sorry forgot the 1/2 leaf of rocket the beans can now be less good !

  • for a great traditional the ironically named New Piccadilly is great. Unchanged pretty much since the late 40's it's got a great atmosphere. And you can take your own booze.....

  • Cafe Onik. No atmosphere or character to speak of but the coffee is best I've had from London's rubbish, the staff are nice and the muffins are large.

  • Ace Café Stonebrige. Good food and beer with Rockabilly, clasic motorbikes, hotrods, american pickup trucks, racing strip and skinhead reggae nights.

  • It's not really a cafe in the traditional sense though.. some cool machinery makes it there. Pity I'm all anti-car now ;)

  • heck i've been in kentish town for 4 years and never seen this mario's place... i'm up the other end of the town innit. have to check it out.

  • hippy It's not really a cafe in the traditional sense though.. some cool machinery makes it there. Pity I'm all anti-car now ;)

Its a dinner I suppose but does pies, egg and chips burgers etc.

  • dicki wow £2.50 for a tin of baked beans and 1/2 a slice of bread those beans better be bloody good !!

Don't knock it till you've tried it ;-)
Oh, they ain't no Heinz - home grown butter beans mate!

This Marios place sounds cool, perhaps we should make the next meet up there?

  • E. Pellicci's (sp?) on bethnal green road. Been open and in the fam. for nearly a hundred years. best bread pudding I've ever had! And damn good veggie sausage for those inclined that way. Only not opened on sunday...
I've had Mario's and it's good, great street and he's a nice fella too. My ex had some art hanging in there for the longest.

  • lol! i was gonna post that mark! but don't forget the premises on hackney road.

  • Adain is correct.

As any fule kno - Maggies in Lewish-arm is the best.

You got yer amusing nutters, you've got your constant free re-fills, you've got your
massive portions and all you can eat options, you've got your complete
lack of macbook toting north & west london nathan barley types, and all for
    a knock down price. Sbrilliant.
