  • Sweet as! Probably one of the nicest bikes i´ve seen in a long time. Only disappointing things were that the chain is too short to put a 19t sprocket on the back (but have just ordered a 1/8 Vertex chain), and I was planning on taking all the stickers off to make the whole bike black and white, but they are laquered on.

It rides very nice, and am yet to see how it is on a day to day basis.

The chain supplied was 3/32, they also supplied a 16t, 1/8 sprocket, so wasn´t sure what was going on there, but looking forward to fitting the chain and getting the rear end locked up.

Just thought I´d let y´all know, cheers!

  • nice front wheel:)

  • Yeah, that bike is beautiful (as far as bikes go!) I´d like to know how he got the stickers off!

Another thing about ma bike. All the photos I´d seen of, it had those stupidly oversized (in my opinion) low drop bars, luckily, mine arrived with what i´d call standard size, will keep them after all.

The hubs listed as "sealed", and was happy to see they were cartridge, and not cup and cone, with an "anti spin pin" to stop the axel spinning when tightned.

    :)

    builds bike

Is there anything original left on that? :)

  • i love gold
you will see my gold baby one day and you shall all weep

  • I'd take the wheels but the rest is vom-city.

  • I thought this came as 48/18T (freewheel) standard.

So does the Flyer come with a 16T cog for the fixed as well?

If it does, then this bumps it up on my shortlist!

  • It does come 48/18 freewheel. And you get a 18T fixed cog. But the fixed cog is 1/8" and the shimano freewheel is 3/32", so you will need to buy a new chain if flipping.

The bike itself is fine, I have had mine a month and done over 500 miles with it bog standard with no problems (other than the expected chain tension adjustment and slightly truing the wheels). The brakes are a bit poor and I plan to upgrade the front when I flip to fixed.

Do check for problems with the paint work on the frame, I turned down two at Evans as they had defective paint jobs (Discolouring and what looked like a finger smudge).

    ).

the chain and chainring are 3/32? but the fixed sprocket 1/8..

    that's dumb.

of course if the chain and ring are 1/8 then you can run what you damn well wish, or just get a 3/32 cog
