New frame

Going to Witcomb's on Saturday to order my new frame.

I've not had a custom frame before. Is there any info I should arm myself with before I get there?

Possibly the most important question: what colour?

The track frames on his site have a white lugs/dropouts thing going on which I kinda like, but not entirely sure. Quite fancy a purple flambouyant with white lugs.

Equally I fancy a traditonal look: maybe ivory with red lug lining.

Thoughts?

baby blue white lug lining would be MY choice but it's your frame.

black with white/grey/silver lug lining would be my choice.

also, BB type (english), threaded or threadless headset, rear spacing are things to think about. relaxed angles or track geo. they'll take you through it all.

and i'll second the lucky bastard sentiment. witcomb make exquisite frames.

I have a Mercian on order the choice of colour was the hardest part. In my mind alot depends on the heritage of the builder.For the Mercian in the end I opted for the traditional Mercian look with head and seat tube bands. In the same way with Whitcomb frames you need to go with the coloured drop outs. The baby blue & white works very well, as does black & white. I agonized for weeks over what colours to go for. In the end I went for blue & darker blue with white transferes. It is such a personal choice my best advice would be not to choose the colour until you are absolutely sure.

liverpool red and white baby blue appeals too or go for a colour no one else has make the bike stand out ( it'll be easier for us to spot if it gets stolen !!! ) no horrible thought

black with red decals and lug lining would be my choice...what happened with the dolan frame? i thought we were acquiring a new member in the Aluminium frame club...

me too, i've got an unbuilt frame sitting here and i want another already. too much looking at bike porn my bank account's drying up like a fucking desert.

black with pink lug lining! goes with the bag you know. then the purple chain + purple deep v's laced onto phils if you fancy. then kit the rest out with chrome parts. BLING!!!!

and yeah so you refunded the wonky dolan?
