Nah I think it's cool. -
• #6

-

Fixies suck, death-traps, ban the lot of them.
-
• #9
I'll reserve judgement.. I still have to make it home.. on a gearie!!! :S
-
• #10
people don't leave bikes outside pubs round here..
and I don't see too many fixed gears aboutbut it must be quite mainstream now, you don't get the funny looks from other cyclists that often anymore..
although, Richmond park last sunday..must have been 200+ bikes, only 3 fixed and one of those was mine. Lots of carbon bling machines being ridden by rich young men who then get changed into sports-casuals, pack the bike up and drive away in new German cars..did someone say cycling is the new golf? cos I said it last sunday...

RP has gone a bit bonkers - There's a great ride down to virginia waters and windsor great park instead
-
• #12
yeah?
like to know about that, never been much of a Richmond fan to be honest, if I want to do laps I'll go down the velodrome -

2 nights this week I went for a ride round Richmond Park, I couldn't tell if the looks I was getting were "Oooh, nice bike" or "What? you're riding fixed?"
-
• #14
knowing your bike, probably the former!
-
• #15
It's fun riding past trihardaletes on their carbon bling down on their aero bars..
What am I talking about? It's fun riding past everyone! -
• #16
well you have to on the hills, no option!
-
• #17
I also sometimes ride in Richmond Park, but I've never seen another fixie there, just loads of shiny, obviously expensive bikes and people who stare at me spinning like crazy down the hills!

winston When I ride back form Herne Hill to Finsbury Park two or three times a week, there is nearly always a gaggle of fixed wheel bikes outside my local....the Brownswood Park Tavern....
I think that's where the crew from the bike shop in the climb wall place drink.
I know the sister of the guy that runs it. Seem like a nice bunch.

Erik Zo said that fixies are the new wallet on a chain...
-
• #20
What if I never had a wallet on a chain?
-
• #21
you haven't even got a wallet, judging by the amount of times you go to the bar 8^)

sometimes take my fixie for a spin around rp. agree too few in evidence compared to geared bikes. agree with wayne bout the run to virginia water and windsor - one of my regulars tho the hills after VW can be a bitch if you're tired. maybe later today...
