How about we picket your employer until they let you park out back?

Get a new job or stab the boss.

Two locks are essential.

haha, that'd be awesome although they could fire me within a week because i'm on a lame "probationary period" for 3 months :@
i don't get what's so unreasonable about it. the stock room is pretty large, and the staff room has a perfectly sized gap at the end of it that would fit my bike... it's not like it's going suddenly jump out the door and cement itself to the fire exit doorway.

I convinced a boss to put up 2 shelf brackets in a staffroom to hang my bike (top tube) from. They were covered in a bit of bubble wrap and gaffa tape. He was moaning about floor space before that, but after a week of haranguing him and suggesting alternatives, he buckled like a stock front wheel on a cheap fixie.
Or buy/borrow a folder. Go on, you know you want to...

What about a folding bike? Doesn't looks that great but works fine tho.

roberto - Hmm I was thinking about a folding bike whilst I was on my way home (on the bus :-/) but it'd only really be useful for a about 3 months before I move to london, and then I'll have my normal bike anyway.
bringmemyfix - that's an idea. the stock room of the shop is full of bits of scaffolding-style tubing everywhere holding up mezzanine floors, railings on staircases etc.... could possibly just try hanging it off them.
i bet there is actually no real reason whatsoever why i can't, they're just being plain bureaucratic.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Make a lot of noise to a lot of people until someone lets you store it where you want it.
It's known as 'nagging' and has been used for centuries by the females of the species.. -

Yeah, I know. The downside is that because of the probationary period i can be very easily fired at the moment, and i really, really need to save money for uni... :-/ I'll drop lots of hints tomorrow and ask the security manager.
Otherwise... 2 kyrptonite minis please, wiggle...

Guess when you're on your P's you need to be careful. I'd still keep hassling 'em though - just make yourself indispensible as well! :)
I want to get myself a cable lock - something to 'wear' fakenger belt style - so I don't have to carry my d-lock. Suggestions?

cable lock belt? hahaha

i have the abus discus and chain, heavy but its round your waist so dont feel it, it can be cut down to fit your waist, and it will snap you in two if you hit the pavement wearing it :)
-
• #22
I use a (faken-climber) climbing clip thing on my chain to shorten it, It also means I can get the chain off with out unlocking it. This way I can gain and lose waight with out an problems
-

What about it?
-

It was suggested over the Abus Discus on a lock-picking forum.. kinda random, sorry.
My new employer won't let me keep my bike out the back of the shop so i'm forced to lock it up in the town centre's bike racks...
Two choices: 1) bike cages with a loop for a padlock, metal mesh fence on a steel box frame thing, or 2) sheffield stand.
I'm thinking sheffield stand. OK, no one can touch your box in the cage, but you could cut through the frame I reckon, or the mesh fence. Plus only a padlock will fit :-/
I've got a kryptonite new york 3000 at the moment. Reckon it's worthwhile getting a new york chain or a new york mini too?
