i also post on an infamous mtb forum known mainly for sexist jokes foul language and meaningless drivel but i know and ride with most of the people on there.
here is a good place to talk about fixed bikes without all the middle mangement angst that you get on other forums plus its Laahndaan innit CAPITAL citee!don't know how this contributes to your thread but hey i thought it so might as well express it.

Bikeforums is 99% drivel and 1% great. If your prepared to be astounded by how eager people aer to put each other down you can come across some real comedy, helpful advice and good photos.
Sadly, you can see some of that same quality of drivel in a recent post in the lycra thread.

Yeah not over to bf much. I tend to check out the touring forum (shame) mainly. I have never been on tour but I like to hear people stories about it. If I can afford the time off this summer I have been thinking about a short tour but I shal prob just dream.

well i was going to pose the question "do any of you guys still go to bikeforums other than to look at the picture thread" as i sure don't, but then two threads turn up with reference to material over on bf.
but hey i thought of it, so i might as well express it.
i think for me it is due to the lack of actual information in most threads, and other people's (in other countries) gossip not being that stimulating. i dunno i seem to be a one website kind of person!
